Sadly, that is just a high price for the controller and two games. It doesn't include the console...

Until someone mods it and suddenly your car's flying all over the place, you're bouncing 50ft into the air, sprinting around at super-speed, killing mortals with the slightest touch, and can only stare fixedly at someone's head until you shoot them.

Well play.com started their (awful from a games perspective) sale this morning. I'll be posting anything big that comes up.

So who is still up for Beowulf at imax in Manchester tomorrow?

I'll be there at 6:30pm, film starts at 7:00pm, and we can hit one of the many alcoholories in the vicinity afterwards.

If many people are still interested, I'll probably make a new thread, if it's just a few of us, then posting here should suffice. PM me if you are up for it, and we can swap numbers.

My inbox is nearly full though, I should go empty it...

Don't know if its been mentioned but gamestation are doing the Xbox 360 Arcade for £150. Yes its the 'tard pack but its cheap, got a hdmi port and is less tarded than a core... plus you can probably get pre owned hdds for cheap now!

That's really tepting, as I already have a HD and cables from my busted Premium. I'll wait til January Sales though (my favourite time of year - there'll be a massacre in every surf shop from here to Falmouth)

As much as I hate to be the voice of temptation... :P They also do it for 169 with any game, or the same price with Forza 2, Viva Pinata and an extra official wireless controller.

I'm up for it, although it'll be a tight squeeze - all going well I'll be back in Macc for 5 and it's a 20-minute journey into Manchester from there (and another ten minutes to walk to the printworks) so that gives me an hour turnaround to say hi to the fambly.

But I'll definitely be there if I can.

GAME's January Sale has already started much of their preowned stock has over half knocked off, and lots of new stock is reduced. Even PS3 games that bombed like Def Jam are less than half price, and there's loads of great PC stuff. Jade Empire special edition in the metal tin box for £7.98? Yes Please.

Xbox 360 PC Wireless adapter for £10 off? Do want. Etc.

I was always gonna get this but that's a hell of a price. If that goes through I think you definitely earned your commission on that.

Also, now I set to wondering how much the balance boards are gonna be on their own....

Just so you know, ShopTo reserve the right to change pre-order prices, but they don't charge you til they ship it, and you will have the opertunity to cancel if/when they change the price.

Let's hope they don't though, I have an order on too!

I want no part of that decision, how about first person who sees this thread hit 100 gets to do it?

Although saying that, Lave is offline for a while over Christmas, so it's possible he won't even be around to do it. I mean he offered, but I think that was just out of courtesy, not a specific desire to make the new thread.

Not sure how relevant this is now but I picked up Assassins Creed (360) for £30 new in Game (Leeds). They're doing some special deal on it, dunno how long it'll last though. (I bought it at the weekend)

Also, Project Sylpheed was going for £10 at zavvi (formerly virgin megastore) in Leeds too. (although looking at the reviews it isn't that great)

It isn't killer but it is good, there is nothing else like it on the 360 at this point. I enjoyed it, for a tenner you can't really go wrong.

    *Cross-posted from temp-thread*

Firstly, I would like to post my Christmas message -
Merry Christmas guys! I hope you all have fantastic times this Christmas, and hope all the gifts you send bring joy to those receiving them.

SavyGamer is nearing the end of it's first calander year, and I would like to take this oppertunity to thank every one of you for your support. By purchasing through my links, spreading word of mouth, or just subscribing/reading regularly you are contributing massively to the success this blog has found.

When I first started, I never dreamed I would have as much traffic as I do (somewhere in the region of 400/500 unique hits a day). I have some big ideas for the future, and the progress I have made towards them this year is the best Christmas present I could ever get and the postive feedback I get on a regular basis is really heartwarming.

Your generosity with using my Affiliatte links is actually really helping me financially. My student lifestyle has me getting by on as tight a budget as possible, and big pay-offs from comission have really helped out in particular times of need.

Hopefully there will be some fantastic deals in Janurary Sales over the next week or so, so keep reading, I will try to update as regularly as possible.

Merry Christmas, and here's to another year of great bargain finding in 2008!

Hey Lewie, I know its not within the purview of your game related sales-age but could you find a decent deal for a Video Capture Card for a PC.

Preferably with S/VGA or Component input. TV extras are irrelevant.

HDMI input is also acceptable but from a cursory google it seems they are super expensive and pointless.

I know of a few sites but goddam I can never do the digging you seem to be able to do. Plus I have absolutely no knowledge of what is and what isnt trustworthy outside of like ebuyer type sites.

I went to try and find a PSP case this afternoon. Apparently Game are having a sale and the entirety of the north-west of the country descended upon the Ashton branch. It was madness. The deals did seem pretty good though, savings of 10-20 quid on most games.

The staff in there are an odd bunch too(actually, I believe that Ziggymon could well work there), they seem to have gained a manager who would fit in perfectly leading the "entertainment" on some cheap cruise ship.

Includes The Hulk, Fast and The Furious, American Werewolf in London, the Manchurian Candidate, The Fog, Beerfest, Leaving Las Vegas,The Good Shepard, and more that I Can't remember right now.
