Hulk SMASH! [Spoilers Within]

It's big, green, and more importantly...

full_60747.jpg
It's out.

Kicking this off because I couldn't find a current Hulk thread in D&D, and I needed to get my geekness out! Plz lock if needed, kthx.

Saw this tonight... and it was awesome, Ed Norton was brilliant (not that I'd expect anything less), and the movie was well paced with a solid plot and a great villian- the theater crowd was full of nerds so the collective reactions were great, like when
Blonsky gets the giant needle in his spine, and you hear this *pop* the whole theater just went "OOOOOOD:"

And the giggles at the purple pants.

Far better then the Ang Lee version in every way. Also, best Stan Lee cameo evar.

Some things to watch for in the opening credits: (spoilerd for safety, but no big ones)
It's telling the story of the Hulk's creation and background leading up to movie, watch closely, and you'll see 'Nick Fury' whiz by on the graphics, and 'Stark Industries' displayed prominently later.

Liv Tyler's Betty Ross was well played, and Tim Roth as Blonsky=Perfect, just the right amount of ambition/craziness to not be cheesy.

Also at the end...
Tony Stark traipsing in to talk to General Ross! :D OMG AVENGERS! Marvel is gearing up! :rotate:

So please... rant, rave, discuss!

Seeing this in about 4 hours and I'll give my impressions then. Here's hoping the new and improved Marvel Studios can go 2/2.

Saw it last night and loved it. I thought it was on par with Iron Man. I also only saw bits and pieces of the other Hulk movie (hulk dogs? no thanks), so my Hulk experience so far has been great.

I definitely want to see Iron Man and then right after see The Incredible Hulk. Marvel is doing the right thing so far.

Best Stan Lee cameo, even better than the one in Iron Man? Shit, I can't wait to see this movie.

So just from the previews, can I assume this is covering pretty much the same ground as Hulk:Ultimate Destruction story-wise? If so sign me up.

Saw it yesterday. It was alright, Tim Roth was great but everyone else was merely serviceable. Also, I thought it felt like the movie was missing an hour of footage or so....

...wait, Marvel did cut 70 minutes of the movie.

I was forced to leave right after the 'final scene' so I don't know if there was anything after the credits.
I wish I had stayed.... tho I don't know what they would have put there....

Aleph- Damn.... there were a few parts that went.... quickly, so there was obviously some cut, but 70 min? Here's to hoping for a directors cut or something.

There was nothing after the credits. I think they basically threw the "after credits" scene before the credits.

I found the guardian review mildly amusing, if a little predicatable. http://film.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/Critic_Review/Guardian_review/0,,2285042,00.html

edit: that 70 minutes sounds like just random crap. "I want to put everything we shot, you know? I’m not the kind of guy that likes to keep the stuff for myself. I’m like, okay you student filmmakers, here’s what I did right and here’s what I did wrong and in some of the stuff, in the 70 minutes, there’s some great stuff and there’s some really horrible stuff, but you’ll see it all, you know?"

Excellent comic book movie. I don't think it was as good as Iron Man but it was still well done. This is giving me high hopes for Marvel's intentions with future movies and franchises. Sadly the next one won't be out for a couple years.

Good balance between Ultimate and 616 universes too. They're doing a great job of cherry picking the better parts of the two and improvising just enough on their own.

I don't think it's incredible as talked about, but I really did enjoy it. The last 15 or so min was just, magic. If someone were to ask me, it's as good as Spider-Man 1 after seeing Spider-Man 2. Worth the money for sure.

Just got back from seeing it, and holy fuck was it awesome. I didn't care much for the Hulk before this movie, but I loved every minute of it.

    Speculation time:
Some of Banner's blood dropped into the open wound on Sterns' head after he created the Abomination. Setting up the Leader as the villain for a sequel?

    And a quick question:
What was the significance of the security guard that Banner gives the pizza too? Because half the theatre started laughing when he showed up, and I sat there feeling like I'd missed something.

Saw it last night- it was fucking awesome. Everything a Hulk movie needed to be and more. On a sidenote I think they're getting away with a lot more violent stuff in PG-13 movies now, ie:
When he first changes over to the Hulk he throws some big truck or something at one of the guards in the factory and the guy jumps to the side but still gets clipped and dragged away, I thought for sure he was going to safely get out of its way solely because it was a PG-13 movie.

Just saw it. I was pleasantly surprised; when I first heard they were doing another Hulk I was cautiously optimistic, but they really did a good job on this. Almost everything I wanted in a Hulk movie, they put in*.

I love all the little gags, like the purple pants or Ross's "You always wear such fancy suits" line to Stark.

I saw it with a smallish crowd (small town), but it was still pretty fun. There were some winces during the Blonsky injection scene, but the biggest "OOohhhhh!" was when Banner couldn't bang Liv Tyler for fear of Hulking out.

    Worst superpower side effect ever.

There was a mixture of 'awwwww' and laughter in my theater, especially at her disappointed groan when he's all 'I can't!'

I think the biggest reaction was Blonsky getting kicked into the tree.

He totally asked for it tho.
