I got some MKV video files recently, and having troubles figuring out how the play them. I have googled and read, but for some reason I just don't get it. What exactly should I use to play them, simply? Or better yet, how can I play them in Windows Media Player?

MKV is a container similar to AVI. Media Player Classic should do the trick.

VLC or Media Player Classic should play them. You could probably also download a codec that would allow WMP to play them.
