while this game is just simply awesome.

I think people are starting to get fed up with the flaws in this game. I'm starting to feel like this game has too much of a rock paper scissors feel to it.

if you get attacked by a squad of a certain makeup...say for example, pile scout whores.....having defenders is what seems to counter them pretty well, but if you don't have defenders...you're fucked. If you *DO* have a bunch of defenders or heavy gunners, snipers and soldiers should be able to outmaneuver the heavier hounds and still bring enough firepower to maul them..

but if you have nothing but soldiers and snipers, you're fodder for pilewhores...lather rinse repeat.

I don't want some uber mech that handles all situations equally but at the same time, it kinda sucks when you're fighting an enemy you really don't have much of a defense against y'know?

aside from increasing the amount of CP each city has...has Sega really done any tweaking at all to balance things out

and as Jast said..the shitty servers and connection issues are starting to wear thin.

This game is so awesome, but it needs fixing BIG TIME

Amazingly, I am generally, you know, working, during those hours.

    Welcome to the exclusive club!

Hey PRODers, I'm going to be out of the country for the next week. I expect you to get us to Legend, and then everybody quit the game for Dead Rising. That's an order.

I think we all quit already.

    I know, but Legend!

If EVERYBODY IN THE FUCKING GAME DIDN'T USE THE FUCKING CHEAPEST SHIT EVER CREATED, then I'd probably still be playing the game.
I am not able to play until my internet gets installed on tuesday. What is this everyone quit already? Cmon guys, we got less than a week before chromehounds is abandoned forever and I want to see us be better than people on my hugeawesomebetter tv before that happends. Chief Wang officer signing out. Man typing this on my phone sucks.

This is pretty much the reason I don't play as much anymore. The higher rank you get, the cheaper the player you get and it just doesn't make it fun sitting at the base waiting to blow up the pile whores.

I would totally be all over this like I was two weeks ago if they removed the piles and the heat seekers. Which of course they will never do since it seems that's the only mechs people can make and they won't complain since that's what everyone is apparently using.

Well. That certainly is embarassing. All that buildup, all that rush, all that excitement, and now everyone dislikes Multiplayer on Chromehounds.

Did you, uh, did you ever even get to play?

It's not that we dislike the multiplayer, it's just that one or two aspects really make it almost unbearable. When those aren't in the equation, it's a fucking riot.

Also, how are people getting letters in the decal editor? I don't see how they're getting them from the preset decals, unless there's some option that gives you text which I have overlooked.

    Exactly.

Also, The Bees Knees had to leave Sal Kar because Sal Kar is just getting raped in the pooper by the other nations at every war. I swear, this is how the wars go:

    1. Sal Kar gets Raped
    2. Tarakia attacks Morskoj
    3. Tarakia overextends themselves.
    4. Morskoj kills Tarakia's capital.

Eh, the combination of the pile/missle spammers, the fact that our squad leader pretty much fell off the face of the earth, and that there's a couple teammates I'm really just not up for playing with anymore due to them being total douchebags, just really has me turned off playing Chromehounds as much these days.

Shame really since I actually really love the game itself, and most of the people I play with, but some dumb shit has just really been spoiling it for me.

I don't think that it is the pilewhores as much as its the repetitiveness of playing glorified ctf matches day after day that is getting to me. Maybe more modes or objectives to the game would extend the replay value. So far the game has not delivered on the "100's of customizable mech parts" aspect of it. That in itself decreases the replay value significantly. Unless they release some kind of new mode or something into the neroimus war I can't see myself playing for that much longer. Infact the only thing that has kept me with the game for this long is having an awesome group to play with.

yeah I've been raped by homing missles before...but does anyone really think they're that bad? (definitely not as bad as pilewhores)

if you're near cover, they're easily defeated and they have limited ammo right?

yeah it sucks that apparently radiators do nothing but still....(never got missile counters to work for me either)

This game is making me miss battletech though. every fucking non-clan weapon was balanced.

but yeah..this game is just getting repetitive too.

That pretty much sums it up. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't even bother to log on anymore. All this game was for me though was something to do before dead rising comes out.

We should try doing some free battles for fun. They have a few options besides deathmatch.

I believe it was 7 custom decals, and 3 hours in the editor :) It's all shapes chopped together.

And, sadly, it's the exact (or as close as I could get it) font.

New info from the official forums: Radiators do NOTHING to stop homing missles. They have absolutely no effect on them. Anti Missle measures are the only things that have a chance of saving you, and even they aren't even that great because if someone has two homing missle launchers, one or two will get through anyway. Missles are already powerful, but homing missles? With all the imbalances in this game, like piles killing HQs in three seconds, or outnumbering a person three to one but still losing because he took freaking communication towers, (how's he going to hold them after time runs out?), or getting killed by ultra fast scout homing missle carriers, this game is starting to grate on my nerves. The connection issues like everyone getting kicked out of a match for no reason isn't helping things either. This game has potential, but it's unfortunately flawed.

Haha, you lost a 3 v 1 to comm towers? Didn't it occur to you towards the last 2-3 minutes that you should probably think about getting a few?

I really don't have a problem with the balance... Pilescouts are annoying and cheap, and loading up on heatseekers is a douchebaggy thing, but we beat those types of people as many times as they cheesed us. The real deal-breaker is the network issues that waste your time, the lack of gameplay variety, and limited parts.

After I post this, my computer is off for a week. I expect PROD to reassemble in the form of a group of afro'd super-gangsters once Saint's Row comes around.

Some real good tactical moments....by the other teams.

But it was still best fun ever :)

    CRITICAL INFORMATION

I am deeply saddened by the faltering interest in the game of games by my brothers in arms. To rectify this situation, I propose a night of free battles like has never been seen before. I'm talking 4 on 4 or however many we can get on from PROD at once to play some CTF or Team DM.

If this goes over well, I would like to extend this to the other PA squads. Hell, if you want to join the first night, the more the merrier.

Sadly if we can not get more then 3 on 3 going, I suggest Commander less CTF/Team DM. This would emphasize com tower capture and communication.

Oh, I had another thought. If we can get some team DM going we could have one team be your standard setup. Then the other team is Pile whores/Heat seekers. We can devise strategies against each with practice.

Anyway, thats all I had to say. I'm just not ready to give up on this great game yet because of "cheap" weapons. They are in there, lets figure out the best way to smack the shit out of them so they think twice about using them.

The Arcadians are still playing even if it is a small group of us. We are finding new and interesting ways to beat other humans and generally working on tactics. The game is still fun, just not 6 hours a day fun.

We have one slot open but we have a waiting list. If someone wants in get on the list, it is on the wiki linked in my sig.

Edit: I think most of us are tired of the PA Chromehounds thread as it has been ... not so great for a while now.

All the more reason for a member of the greatest squad EVAR(this is a joke people, for those don't see that) to repent for previous transgressions and bring the community together for large amounts of ass kickery and (in game) shenanigans.

Still playing lots too and still loving it. I dislike when I run into pile whores who go for the base, but I think the rest is balanced. Heat seekers have not been a problem since I spent 2 hours in free mode with a friend testing how they worked and how counters worked.

I wish there might be more parts and I think there will be as those research numbers go up, recall that this is the first war that has lasted long enough for the games sim mechanics to even see the light of day :P And it's possible they are not tuned right yet, just like the whole area region points needed the big tune, maybe research needs a similar level of change. Who knows.

What I think is funny about the current war is that Tarakia's conquest of Sal Kar following our resurrection is likely going to cost them the whole war. Why they were beating Sal Kar back down with Morskoj hitting their capital was beyond stupid. But hey, if it makes them feel better. ;)

I've been taking a break for the last few days, and it's been nice. My GF comes into town tonight from a 4 month trip to Japan, so expect me to be absent a few more days, but then I plan on playing again. Not 6 hours a day playing certainly, but I still have a lot of fun with this game, even if we end up just fighting the CPU.

I was in a match with the Bacon robots fighting some other team.....we were about to lose, but we had beaten on this one treaded hound covered in armor plates pretty well...so I figured we had to at least take him with us. I also had a single armor plate covering my cockpit...and we ended up circling each other...he was laughably trying to out-turn me but I could keep up with him....what pissed me off though is since he had those two plates of armor around his cockpit....I thought it would be better to aim at his treads so that he couldn't move as much so that I could position myself behind him and blow him away that way.

since we both had armor..we circled each other for what seriously seemed like an entire minute....my quad machine guns aimed at his treads....he never slowed down one bit...eventually he did blow me away...but I was, and still am, confused as to why my machine guns appeared to have no effect on him.

FYI, the treads have just about the most life of any chassis, so shooting for the wheels on them isn't usually the best idea. In all probablility, his legs had more life than his cockpit.

It also just makes me wonder how accurate some of the hit boxes are on this game. like for example...in the trial sorties...I've tried to aim very precisely and hit only the guns of some of the ACVs...but it never seems to make a difference...at a certain point..the entire ACV just blows up...not just the targeted weapons pod.

is that just an ACV thing?....take X amount of damage anywhere...and die?

I just know sometimes that targeting certain parts of hounds doesn't seem to have the effect I would expect.

I just know sometimes that targeting certain parts of hounds doesn't seem to have the effect I would expect.

As far as I am aware the NPC's (ACV, Tanks, Hovers, Walkers, Snipers) are all of one hitbox.

The hitboxes for the hounds themselves are spot on as far as I can tell, as we've neutered a guy down to everything but his cockpit before, and everyone but me thought he was dead because he just stopped, hehe. I had to shout at them to kill his cockpit b/c I had run out of fuel(don't ask) and no one would believe me that he wasn't dead because EVERY PART OF HIM WAS ON FIRE OR MISSING.

The best part was that he was a pile scout, and he had just failed miserably at trying to draw us away from our base and then doubling back on us.

Just remember, only one of your weapons is going to be dead accurate to the camera in most cases. Never link weapons on two sides of your hound unless they're wide-range artillery, bomb dispensers, mines, or grenades or something you don't need to aim for. Also, many weapons require extra stability to be accurate, and only a sniper or a good auto-rifleman is going to be dead accurate when they want to be... maybe a defender with an accuracy-specialized cannon will also do the trick. All the other weapons are somewhat more unwieldy/unpredictable.

Feel free to roll over to =www.brainrotcollective.com/ironskies]Iron Skies Forums! and leave a name and message, or even a brief Hi!

Those who naysay have thier own reasons, but those at Iron Skies, have been rockin the Kasbah.

Seriously though, I decided the best way to take care of pile hounds, is to host matches, and If I see a pile bitch streaming for the base, I just disconnect. It's a bitch way out, of a bitch way to lose. So we all know 2 negatives = a positive, so I win.

The missile whores? Just pack 4 rifles and stay out of thier range, pack some Countermeasures on your right, strafe left and Yay beer!

Don't be so hard on the game, as its a good game, the online play can be extended somewhat a bit, but hey, not bad for first showing, EA will buy them and we will get Chromehounds 07 next year.

I don't suppose there are any active squads on right now?

Why, cuz you ditched your old one? Seriously, me, you, Flippy, Ryke, and Liake should all go somewhere together because you're the only folks I ever played with anyway and now you've all left the Footclan.

Although, as the only active member, I do consistently win the parts lottery!

Some people seem to have ditched this game because they don't like to lose, and some because they don't like to lose... cheaply. That's what I think, anyway.
