Some people seem to have ditched this game because they don't like to lose, and some because they don't like to lose... cheaply. That's what I think, anyway.
At first, it got really old having to sit at the base waiting for the pile whores to come. Then once you wait and no one shows, you move out only to get raped by heatseeking bastards.
Then it was having problems finding games against people, and the more we rank up the cheaper the people we go against.
There aren't enough parts, the experimental parts take forever and fucking day to update. Most of the single player parts suck.
The online war is way too repetitive. If they had different modes besides the standard team deathmatch with bases, it would help a bit.

I could go on, but yeah. Interest is fading fast.
But would all that server and parts and squad crap be so bad if you could just go into a 1v1 if nothing else was available and have a rollicking battle? It's the cheapness I tell you.
Maybe burnout, too? Your description of issues with the game is accurate, but like a few above I'm still having fun with it. Seems like all of a sudden everyone else decided they didn't like it anymore.

No, it has a lot to do with the cheapness. I refuse to play anything but 4v4 or more now, with the limited people we get on at a time, it's hard to do. 4v4 and below, and I always run into cheap ass players. Like the SGI squad that is completely made up of fast as fuck scouts with piles and bombs. Every one of them.
It's shit like that that makes me not want to play anymore. I did have a lot of fun before a shit load of people started to abuse the overpowered stuff.

Iron Skies is still alive and kicking, always at 20 members, with everyone working thier assess off. In a few days, more spaces will be opened up due to inactivity( I check the friends list everyday). So stay tuned.
Those who naysay have thier own reasons, but those at Iron Skies, have been rockin the Kasbah.
E N D C R I T I C A L I N F O R M A T I O N
Seriously though, I decided the best way to take care of pile hounds, is to host matches, and If I see a pile bitch streaming for the base, I just disconnect. It's a bitch way out, of a bitch way to lose. So we all know 2 negatives = a positive, so I win.
The missile whores? Just pack 4 rifles and stay out of thier range, pack some Countermeasures on your right, strafe left and Yay beer!
Don't be so hard on the game, as its a good game, the online play can be extended somewhat a bit, but hey, not bad for first showing, EA will buy them and we will get Chromehounds 07 next year.
So, uh, which one of you guys is the one that went in and gave everyone in the PROD negative feedback on Live for stuff that happened in the forums?
But whatever the squad cap (say 4) is at, that's how many enemy CPU HOUNDS will spawn.
So you just go in with 3/4 players.
I think that's how it works.
That's not true. If you are fighting NPCs, it will cap at the players in the room. So if you set it for 6, and you only have 3, you will only have 3 npcs.
No idea. I know a few times when the game first came out and we were doing a lot of NPC battles, and people dropped, and it kept the npc amount to whoever was in the game.
Well apparently my data got jacked up somehow and I lost all the parts ive gotten on live and am no longer in the squad. I guess my live data got messed up. This sucks very bad, I cant build any of my mechs now because I lack all the parts, I guess my save got corupted last night somehow when I tried to donate and it failed to save, I guess It never saved again before I quit so Im back to square one after a crapload of hours invested. Why wouldnt they have my data on their servers like every other game.
Just have different objectives worth different points. And the person who makes the match determines the objectives
Capture = Capture combas' Round ends when all enemies destroyed or time runs out.
HQ destruction = Destruction of HQ or when all enemies destroyed, or time runs out. No combas win, most mechs alives when if time runs out.
HQ Assault/defend= 1 Base, 2 teams, 1 defends, 1 attacks. Round ends when base is destroyed or time runs out or all enemies defeated. People would have to negotiate natural defenses, such as Cliffs, landmines, trees as well. Defenders win if time runs out, with base not destroyed. If no defenders within a square of the base, then attacks win, when time runs out.
Transport = One random mech on the team, must take an object attached to thier mech to the other side of the map. Round ends when object is destroyed, all mechs destroyed, object reaches other side. For shits and giggles, this would be a 8000x4000 map, so its quite a haul, with plenty of room to hide, Combas towers will be in this game as well. It would allow for executing ambushes, and just bring a level of tactics to the game.
Each one of those, would have different Conquest point rewards, Based upon, how many missions of that type are run, an organic system, where if noone is doing Capture missions, then Capture missions will start to reward more. Also, you can make it so that certain missions are requred to capture an area. Say, Capture, 10 capture missions must be played to capture this area + whatever conquest points are required, Players would be able to hold onto an area better if the other side couldnt meet the 10 capture missions won.
Now all those missions, HAVE to be played against people, you cannot play those missions against a CPU, If you play against the CPU, you do the standard deathmatch base destruction mode, for minimal points.
I don't suppose there are any active squads on right now?
Why, cuz you ditched your old one? Seriously, me, you, Flippy, Ryke, and Liake should all go somewhere together because you're the only folks I ever played with anyway and now you've all left the Footclan.
Although, as the only active member, I do consistently win the parts lottery!
Yeah, sorry about that. But that sounds like a good idea, we need to get an active clan started. Or we can just try to get the Footclan going again, but we'll need to at least get down a time so we'll be able to get a schedule down or something.

Count me in. I play basically from the time I get home from work at 5 cen. until the time I go to bed, about 10 or 11.
At least I would if I didn't only have 1v1's to play and got bored after 45 minutes.
So I am a complete xbox live / 360 / chromehounds noob. I checked the wiki but couldn't find the squad. Any of you guys have any room for a brand new member? I basically did some of the single player missions and got stomped on in some deathmatch style match (only one I tried so far, unlimited weapon/fuel wtf?).
The only time I've gotten negative feedback is from this game.
haha.
Oh man, PGR3. Those ranked matches...people get soooo competitive O.o
"You spun me out? Neg feedback!"
So very true, most my neg feedback came from PGR3, if you touch someone you totally meant to wreck them. The problem is amplified if use something other than a ferrari which has a different race line, they can come careening into your line and it's somehow your fault.
I also have 2 from Chromehounds, my favorite was a 2 on 2 match against a sniper and a heat missile guy. I was a sniper and my partner was a wheeled scout with 4 machine guns. I put a few rounds into the sniper while dodging his. The heat seeker guy tried to flank me and come up the hill behind so I let my scout know to sneak up on him. Well the scout misunderstood my directions so I was now in a close fight as a sniper on a heat guy. I hit him okay but died eventually with him close. My scout finally showed up then and killed the heat seeker guy. Then inexplicably the other sniper showed up on the hill with the scout at close range. Why he advanced at a melee, I dont know. In any case my scout just ran around him in a circle pelting him for like 30 seconds til he died without being hit back because of the lack of turning ability on the guy.
So we finish up with the barely victory thinking, well that was a pretty good match. Ba-dink, message from the guy you played. Jerkface999 or something, "underground" zone. And he says to me...
"Yeah that's real cool, I'll just zip around him with my tiny machine guns so he can't hit me. Yeah. Go watch some more star trek or something..."
Idiot. A scout used it's speed to it's advantage, SAY IT AINT SO.
And he left me feedback for "unsportsman like conduct". Best part being of course, I was the sniper. My scout friend, did not get a message or feedback.
I'm always a big fan of technological solutions to social problems, even if they don't make sense. So this might be a dumb idea. Tell me if it's a dumb idea.
Pile Scout User Database
You use that 'people I've recently played with' tab to identify people. Tell the system who your squadmates are, so you don't accidentally report one of them.
While you're sitting in a match waiting room, pull up that screen and check the tags of the people you're about to play against. If they have numerous reports of bad conduct (using pile scouts, for example) you just don't play with them.
After a match, if you get hit with pile scouts, pull up that screen and report the tags of the people you just played with. Don't do anything within XBL -- just on the web site.
The site CAN be restricted to PA users only.

Has anybody gotten the Combat Award? It's so hard to win a 2v1. I've won...five times? Six? But mostly because it was against other pile scouts. Or so I think.
I mean, there are so many combinations for a 2v1.
I'm always the pile scout. There's no way I can win a 2v1 without it. The other team is either pile scout, heat rockets, defender, rockets, or combination.

My life has been insanely busy this week..so thats why im haven't played at all recently. But I hope this lessened interest motivates Sega to make some changes.

Then he had to go so I loaded up anyway and there were 2 CPU HOUNDs.

Me too. Kind of funny since you can't smack talk the other team. Well, unless you send them messages. Which is always fun.
I had 12 items going in that last lottery.
I won three.
