Squad 'trainingday' is open. No tryouts. Looking for more people to play with to diversify the RT's used and win/share lottery parts. Mostly CPU for now, but that may change if we get better. Plus, people in this game are cheep.

Edit: Whoops. Forgot to mention the nation. Morskoj.

(Also looking to trade for chips from other nations)

Dunno, Don't think so, I'm trying to join up a PA guild or whatever they call em in Chromehounds. The problem is that you can only join when another member of the guild is on, which kinda sucks. I'm considering makeing one, but eh, Don't want to divide up the groups too much you know? Guess I'll just wait for someone to jump on :)

Since pretty much every PA Clan seems to be dead or only have a few actives left. Why doesn't everyone disband and make one or two fully active clans?

At this point I don't think there would be enough to even full one clan. I know of only 4 people that play often still in the new and improved prod. I never see anyone on in the original prod. I rarely see anyone else on my friend's list, which is pretty much mostly PA people, playing this anymore.

    Well, hmmmm.

If we could get a good solid ten people or so.

This game really does shine when you get a team dynamic going. Otherwise it is mostly a battle to release heatseakers first.

Well, what would be the harm in trying? I'd love to be able to experience this game the way alot of people did when it first came out. If no-one is gonna be online to play, I might as well send it back. I was hoping to keep it from gamefly for like a month :(

I'm not saying don't go for it. It will probably make people happy that still play this game so they actually have people to play with.

I wish I still wanted to play the game. I had fun with it, but the war mode was way too repetitive. Combined with the limited access to new parts, heat-seeking missiles, piles, having to sit at the base if you didn't have a commander in case the other team had pile scouts, having the other team only consist of pile scounts or heat-seeking missile mechs, among other things.

I'll probably still hop on from time to time, but I don't have the desire to play it like I do. I really hope they make a sequel that improves on things a bit, I would be all over that.

Hell, if it wasn't for the people I played with, I probably would have gave up on this game after a week.

From the last couple of posts it seems like the balance in the game is way off. In a game where strategy is key, you shouldn't be able to win without covering a wide range of tactics. It shouldn't boil down to best missles vs. best melee.

I'm thinking of sending it back without even popping it in if there really is only 4 people still playing it. I don't want to have a 0 of 1000 gamerpoints next to a game if I know I'm not gonna play it...

I vote we create a new squad. In Tarakia or Sal Kar. I needs me some new parts. Just call it P.Arcade or something straight forward that all PAers can join into.

We really need to consolidate the tribes

Well, would it be hard to get everyone who is a part of a clan to chime in on their status? I would gladly make a Wiki page for such a thing if there was a clan/member list somewhere. Then people could just put Inactive/active next to there name. Then, depending on the number of actives we could make 1 or 2 Uber-clans.

I would love to play, but the Arcadians are never there. I check in every night, but just don't want to play by myself. Fable and Jade Empire and now Dead Rising are there for that.

They keep saying they aren't through with it though.

I have completely eliminated my fear of heat seekers. On every mech I build now that goes into close range combat, I roll with no less then 2 missle counters. It only requires me to not use as much armor as I'm used to, armor that I have come to see as only marginally effective anyway. However I did run out of gas last night in a protracted sniper battle and had just enough time to twist my torso to shield me with my right arm armor until the round ended.

I've had this game for awhile, and have completed all but the artillery story mode with mostly S and a few A's. I need to check out an FAQ to find out which missions have 'must have' equipment in the S rating and go back and redo them.

I would like to play online if anyone else is interested. Just know that I don't know anything about the online weapons really. I only got one pile so far in the storymode and haven't bothered trying it out. I know nothing about heatseakers or missile defense. I assume the missile defense works like like the nightvision special? Or is it like the flare? I hope it is the prior since switching weapon groups can be abit clunky.

My biggest gripe about the game is that all the unused buttons should be used as shortcuts to fire different weapon groups. Better yet, move the specials to the face buttons (only Y is used if I recall correctly) since moving your right thumb to an unaimed special would not matter. Then you have both triggers and both buttons for the four weapon groups. It is simple.

My main problem is that I have had to share my Xbox slot on our router with my wife's powerbook. When working she runs three systems. I suppose I should just swap out MY pc for the Xbox, but I am usually downloading stuff on PC when playing xbox.

I've become almost completely disinterested in this game.

mainly because SEGA has apparently forgotten about the game and hasn't updated it much, topping the list is that they wont fix the connection issues or allow you skip past war reports...etc.

I've also become turned off by their rock paper scissors approach. If you could guarantee every battle was 6v6..then it wouldn't be so bad, but most games are 3vs3 or less...and I just don't like the fact that its a crapshoot if my hound happens to be well suited to take on my foe.

I love the variety of the hounds, but there are always some uber weapon that just happens to be better than the rest....so despite the variety, the game has become formulated.

    I miss my battletech.

Sure is. And I still love the game. The only tactic I think is cheap is massive pile rush on the base of 3 or more players. There is almost no way to stop 3 well coordinated pile mechs from taking out a base, the hitpoints on the base just aren't there.

Heat seeking missiles are really no problem. They just arent. So many ways around them.

The huge NA makers are the best defence against pile whores. Last night I was running a commander with Torpe, when I saw the other team moving towards our base fast. I checked the map and told Torpe to where to position himself. Next thing ya know, bot the pile whores ran straight into him, or his volley of high explosive rounds at least. I also hear that mine layers can cripple pile scouts pretty fast as well.

Washs Warriors has a few active guys, although G.R.A.W has taken up my time recently. I'm not sure if the remaining active guys are gonna join one of the other active squads. If we don't then maybe the Warriors should start organising certain nights to play to maximise the amount of 4+ games we can get going.

Im not gonna be on tonight (football is on) but I probably will be tommorow and friday evening.

I agree that knowing when and where is the best defense. Mines are great, but a good pile team is going to swoop down on you from multiple directions faster than you have a chance to lay a field, I blame this on the reload timer for mines which is STUPID high. I mean honestly, what's the POINT of dropping mines if you can't just lay your field in a minute and get on with the match. At best you've going to get 2-3 sets layed before some maniac is screaming at your base if they dont bother with a combas and why should they. Thing is most pile teams ARE NOT skilled. They come in one group all together and yes indeed... they do scream hit me with a HE volley.

You want to run a good pile team, load one guy with an NA and the rest with the 6 pile setup. Choose the base closest to the enemy bases, the commander bot rushes down the line while the others fan out as much as possible, when the commander spots the base he calls the number. Commander assaults with machine guns presumably first, the defenders will be faced with ignoring his hits on the base (which isn't insignificant ... 4 machine guns do pretty good on a base) or commiting to gun cams to try and hit him. That's when the others come zipping in, no two from the same direction. 1-2 volleys a piece of 6 piles from 3 or more hounds = dead base.

I only say this because I've seen a japanese team do it to me. Probably how the top heavy gunner is where he is since heavy gunner points are earned from base hits.
