I could possibly see some sort of tools, and/or an initiative to convince developers to straight-port over 360 stuff, but wii and PS3 too? Yeah, that's not going to happen.
That thing with playing console games on PC sound unlikely.
You.

You're right though. X-Box 360 games are a distant maybe if only because Microsoft can dick around with DVD recognition, but I doubt it for anything else.
I am so hoping that the Trioxide thing is true, even from a "let's see how this concept flies with gamers" point of view. Convergence between consoles and PCs in terms of standardisation and whatnot is an awesome dream of mine.

There is currently no way in hell anyone would be able to do it - there would be lawsuits up the backside if it was real. If this Trioxide group used hardware to do it, or some sort of software emulation (which I doubt any current processor could emulate the PS3 without massive hiccups) the companies they are copying will come down hard.
Trioxide doesn't make sense, it sounds too fake to be true.

How are you going to have PCs read the encoding on the various different sorts of data encryption for every kind of disc-based console? Not to mention it will have to be able to read Blu-Ray for PS3 games. Or are they going to be downloadable, which: A) Will be fucking huge per game and Basically be handing the software to pirates and saying "Hey make all the copies you want".
It's such a load of bullshit I'm surprised whoever concocted it didn't suffocate under the sheer weight of it all before he posted it.
As I said, from a concept point of view, it's great. Execution-wise, it will most likely rest on having a console already, at least for this generation, considering the price points in the materials posted.
Some of this could very well be true... hell, I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't come up with an avatar system already, considering the success of Miis and the (mythical) PS3 Home.
Because it implies they would implement them before universal clan lists.
There has never been any implication that clan lists would be supported.
Actually, there was a huge rumor around the time of last year's spring update (I believe) that they would be implementing a global clan system, and it was the reason that clans were left out of Halo 3. Of course, it was a rumor, and that rumor completely died once the actual update happened and it was nowhere to be found. They basically said that the friends of friends thing was an easy workaround to a clan system and left it at that.
Edit: As for avatars? Give me game specific items for my avatar with specific achievement unlocks. Weapons, clothes, armor, weapons, etc. Kind of like what they did with the mega buster in Dead Rising, but for your avatar, too.
In a related note the best thing was in the Forza 3 thread on gaf where someone notices ches account was online for 15 seconds then went offline again.
Basically hes all 'what the FUCK' and proceeds to make some phone calls.

It was a feature that they trumpeted of the original Xbox Live. They need to implement them, because it's impossible to get a clan together consistently. Instead, we got a stupid "Friends of Friends" feature, which I say is barely a feature, more like all they had to do was implement a new DB query.
It's pathetic that Halo 2 still has the best clan interface of any Live game.
There's also the fact that Bungie said in one of their podcasts they couldn't implement a clan list in Halo 3 because MS didn't like how they did it in Halo 2, and they heard clan support was coming down the pipe so they were going to wait for that instead of wasting their time implementing their own version.
One more potential bombshell from the mother of all leaks: Is Lips, the rumored interactive karaoke game for Xbox 360, the next game from Elite Beat Agents developer Inis?
Joystiq says they've received an anonymous tip, apparently from within Microsoft, that suggests just such a thing. We know that Inis has been hard at work on an Xbox 360 game, and this has their musical background written all over it.
Especially interesting about Lips is the fact that it's not just a karaoke game -- the wireless microphone controllers have motion sensors in them that let you dance to the music. You can even add tracks from CDs or iPods to create your own levels. It certainly sounds like the sort of technical challenge that the EBA team would tackle.
I do have friends at Inis, but they've been (ahem) tight-lipped about their future projects. So if this rumor is wrong, they'll all make fun of me in a month. We'll probably all find out together at E3.

Does anyone else think this game looks alot like World of Warcraft?

@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!

But, we'll just have to see.
WHAT?
WHAT DO YOU KNOW?
*don't say if it'll actually get you fired, which it will, so don't say. But do. I need to know.

Like I said before, 90% of this is probably bullshit.
Then why is JCRooks facepalming rather than laughing?
Fuckups do happen in the world of PR. And it's interesting that this stuff is all typed out in images rather than "holy shit, guess what I heard?"
1) JCRooks isn't privy to half the stuff at Microsoft that is in the works.
2) He is facepalming at the people taking what is ostensibly market research and guidelines as solid announcements.
I have always said, in an industry that lives on bullshit and hype, dont believe it until it is in our hands.
Heck, I probably wont believe it until a week after when I can reflect.
Well, I do but I'm not tellin'.

I had heard rumblings that Inis had been wanting to do something new, so maybe this is it. Sounds up their alley, at any rate.
