How to clean video game controllers?

I can think of few who would be more qualified to answer this question of mine: how do you guys 'clean' your controllers?

Basically, I want to clean my 360 ones 'cause they're a little sticky and just not as clean/smooth as I'd like. They're not really visibly dirty or anything they can just be slightly annoying because of them kind of being 'sticky' and the like.

They've been to used tons and have been to many LANs, hell, there is probably some bacteria colony growing on them for all I know. D:

    Clorox wipes.

Or q-tips with rubbing alcohol on them.

Windex'll also work and don't forget to clean the cord, assuming that they're corded. Also, business cards are extremely useful for getting the dirt/grime out of the seam.

Usually I just use a moist microfiber cloth because I find that lysol wipes/chemicals/etc. leave a weird feeling on the controller afterwards. If it's a big mess, I'll use a lysol wipe and then wipe it off with the damp cloth.

Also, I second the business card thing. They are really great for getting the gunk out of the seams and crevices.

And for the crevice cleaning if you have no business cards on hand a toothpick will work fine also.

Rad, thanks for the suggestions guys. I've tried some other things before and they've left an odd feeling so hopefully it'll work out better now.

Wired 360 controllers will open with a standard Philips-head. Wireless ones have some crazy security screw.

I tend to take them apart and soak the plastic in water for about half an hour, Then take them out, dry them and wipe them, and go to town with cotton buds (Q-tips). Leave them for a day on a towel and reassemble.

I use contact cleaner to fix funky buttons sometimes. I've revived many messy guitar hero controllers in this way.

I've never cleaned a controller in my life. Is that weird?
