I dunno. People are saying it's bad. And don't you have to pay extra to redownload it if you lose it or something?
I know at least two other people besides myself who after downloading the EA Downlaoder had their trial versions break. I can sort of fix it if I close out of the downloader immediately before opening it but it's seriously a hassle.
I leave on a 7 hour train journey in like an hour.
I want to play the spore thing on my mbp if possible.
Someone direct me quickly to a place to get this done soon! a quick look on the spore site links me only to the PC version.
Otherwise I'm going to be playing the world ends wth you. which to be fair, and to run the immediacy of this request, is easily equal if not superior an option.

It makes me somewhat sad that Transgaming helped port the Mac version with Cider, but no word about a Linux version or anything. It's definitely possible; Cider was based off Cedega, which was in turn based off Wine.

People were pretty hopeful about it in the last thread. Since the creator came out though, it hasn't really been that big of a deal.

Does anyone know if a Geforce2 will run this editor? I have the editor already, but it won't run after the install. Says I need the newest directx9, but I thought I had it already. Does it matter if the Geforce2 is only a 64mb video card? I have 512 ram and a Pentium IV chip.

Nay, it will not run it. Your card is like 8 years old. About $80 bucks or so will get you a card that can run it well though. Gonna want to up your ram too, though.

Yeah, thats what I figured. And I am buying a new card, upping my ram to 2gb, and getting a bigger hard drive, I just can't do any of that until my pay check 3 weeks from now. I was just hoping there would be a way to run it now, because I REALLY want to start making creatures, heh. Just being impatient.
I'm really glad the full game is not out yet though, because I would really be upset if I could not play that yet. It's just so hard to wait when I know the game is available, just waiting for me to play.

I created this tiger fella that just moves AWESOME! If any of you own cats, you can attest to the realism of this animation. The procedural stuff just blows me away, and I do animation professionally! (it's kind of embarrassing actually, to do something equally good, I'd have to work for hours on it...)
Anyone find that the real thing is miles less stable than the trial? I had no problems with the trail at all but the real thing wont work if Winamp is running, if PnkBstra.exe (which I think is tied to the full thing) is running, or if it does run it runs without sound unless I restart.
edit: oh gaycakes, keeping EA's crappy download manager that I'll never use again installed fixes this all.
