I've only seen the first season, it was pretty sweet.

I really like the intro... little boxes, little boxes...

I read that the musician changes per season, truth?

My wife and her mom love this show. Sex and the City levels of love.

The few episodes I've seen were good but were in the middle of a season and I had no idea what was going on. Essentially I'm saying start from the beginning.

Yes and yes again. Weeds is very much the serial drama, you'll want to start with episode 1 season 1

I lasted until the end of Season 2, and by that point I didn't really like any of the characters anymore. Has the situation improved? Because the previews I've seen do not look encouraging.

On the other hand, right after it is Secret Diary of a Call Girl which I'm kind of interested in.

I dunno about the call girl show but they've definietely been spending a ton of cash to market it as "the show you stick around to watch after weeds", they bought out the tv listing of the LA times today at least. But I'm up to ep 6 of season 3 atm and it's pretty great, the humor is top notch, and Nancy is getting into some serious shit. If you've seen the season 2 finale I'd highly reccomend catching up

edit: just got past where one of the Olsen twins is introduced as a character, kinda meh.. but then Oh shit! U-Turn!!

    Hilarious show.

after season 1 the theme is sung by a different group each time, one of them being the decemberists. Good times. I'll have to watch this season... somehow.

Yeah I love what they do with the theme, other artists have included...

    Elvis Costello
    Randy Newman
    The Shins
    Death Cab for Cutie
    Billy Bob Thornton

It bothers me - completely irrationally, I admit - that a song written about the San Francisco peninsula is used as the theme song for a show set in SoCal.

because they did more or less the same thing, though SoCal went out while San Fran went more up and tightly packed, that's what I'd guess

I started off liking this show because at first because of her
losing her husband I thought her being a drug dealer was just for necessity, but as the series has gone on and not only her but almost all the people around her have just become sad with how their lives have gone I can't watch it anymore. I honestly want her to get caught at this point , because at this point she is simply edging too close to being just a hard criminal.

Honestly watching the show at this point is like watching human suffering but not in an entertaining way but in a sad way.

I sort of had the opposite reaction and thought the show got a little too wacky, especially with the community of born agains.

I felt that way about Breaking Bad (though not in a bad way, I hope to god they get a second season). The Weeds criminals are so characterized that I never really feel like Nancy is going to lose it all, she's just has to deal with the repercussions of looney tunes-esque dealers

I gave up on this show somewhere in season 2. It was becoming a blur of human misery.
I know some people laugh when they see someone stumble and fall but I don't.

Every week I thought "hey her shitty life might get better this time" and then the writers crushed my hopes on a rock, again.

I almost stopped around early season three but I actually thought the show got a lot better at that point, which was good because the novelty had worn off for me.

I enjoyed the premiere, although it occurred to me in the very beginning that I am not certain I saw the end of last season. I didn't remember anything from the previously on bit.

I finally got around to season three and plowed through it all in a day or two. It wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be, although I much preferred the first two seasons. It felt like season three went back and forth too much between SERIOUS SHOW and WACKY COMEDY, whereas the first two seasons were a little more balanced.

Still love most of the characters though (aside from Celia, who I honestly cannot stand at this point), and I hope they aren't largely written out.

I thought second episode of season 4 was much better than the first, and maybe
they aren't going to have a ridiculous situation with celia as I originally was worried they would. seemed a little over the top to have her in fucking jail. I mean, as annoying as she has been no one deserves that for ya know, not breaking the law and all

At the end of Season 3/beginning of 4, was anyone else disappointed that
she decided to keep dealing drugs? Look, I know that's what the show is about. But what's more, I thought it was about her doing what needed to be done for the family to survive. After their house burnt down, wouldn't they get some sort of insurance money? Unless, of course, she hadn't been paying. Either way, she's know pretty much living rent free. I just wish she would've tried to live legitimately. It's not a moral issue or anything; I just think the show can only go so many places if they keep with the drug dealing. And yeah, it would be Weeds without weed, sure.

It feels like a completely different show almost, so many of the characters we've grown used to are gone, Albert Brooks was great and I'm pretty damned impressed with scarface from Half-Baked as Guillermo. Such a great show

yeah and then they they went there. Celia is the only character I'm kinda sick of, though I can't say the actress isn't great. I guess it's a good thing, she's 100% perfect at portraying a character we love to hate

    Ah!! Cuban B!

Yeah, it does feel like a different show. I've always liked it, but it had a problem of breaking off into little sub stories that didn't really make any sense, and didn't have any lasting impact on the characters or the story. Like Andy in the army... or Andy in a porno... or pretty much whatever they have Andy doing.

Yeah, him and Doug are about to get into another wacky adventure, but at least this one is kind of relevant to what's going on, and looks like it will last longer than two episodes.

    As for Guillermo...
I think he's fucked. Or going to be. He cut Nancy out of business for personal reasons, which cuts out profits from the big man. Guillermo obviously was pretty upset with how things work.

Nancy better be glad she's hot. She'd be dead by now otherwise.

I don't think it cut out profits from the big man at all. She wanted to move 300lbs of the next shipment. That was Guillermo's shipment, and Guillermo would've moved it himself. Otherwise they wouldn't have that much product. He's pissed because she went over his head and broke the chain of command, and then he got put in his place and told to give her what she wanted. The big man doesn't give a shit who sells his pot, as long as it's being sold.
