38 people downloaded Firefox 3...in Nepal

So we're all setting records and such. Woohoo. The real humor comes from seeing where people do and do not have access to the internet.

Like South Korea (7,142 downloads) and Bangladesh (265) and Ethiopia (18) compared to North Korea (0 downloads).

Did you get it?

It seems to be loading things much quicker than firefox 2. Apparently they've slowed the memory loss thing, or stopped it, I don't know.

I downloaded it for my home computer this morning, I'm not getting it here at work until there's a proper release of Firebug that works with it.

I use Opera at work as well, but I find it doesn't handle Flash and other plugins as well as Firefox does... might just be the Linux version though.

Not sure, Teefs. I lost a few of my add ons.

But I'm sure there will be new versions of them all within a week. I'm going to see what themes they've got already.

Firefox isn't the default browser and thus less spywire and viruses are designed to get past it's defenses. It's the same reason why Macs are less vulnerable than PCs.

But Firefox isn't as safe as it used to be, since way more people are using it now and more malicious folks are designing stuff with firefox in mind.

and it even seems a tad faster than IE7

They're both fine. Firefox is now a carbon application meaning basic shit like scrolling while firefox isn't in focus works now. I think Firefox uses a little less memory, but I haven't had it open for very long.

Just pick whichever one you're more familiar with

72MB memory here. Which is well below what it was pulling prior. It would hit half a gig of ram and hang once in a while.
