Eh, I dunno. Looking at the schedule we seem to have a few hours or so between each event, and I'm planning on getting my ass royally kicked the first or second anyway.. I might have time for a little self-indulgence and espionage where the voting is concerned.

If all else fails I'll just find out who the likely candidates are and pass the information on to my friends. ;)

To clarify, they did the voting thing the first year, and I don't think they did so last year, and I haven't heard any word about if they plan on doing so this year. I'm just curious what came of it from 2004, as I never heard what people received.

My entire memory of '04 involves a tragic Smash Bros. tournament and getting free Bawls from fat kids... :\ Apparently my memory gets shaken up like an etch-a-sketch every few years.

Anyway, I think if we mentioned it enough we might be able to organize something like voting, whether or not they were planning it. Exercise our power as... Ah.. Us. Though it's a bit late in the month and I'm not entirely sure it would be worth the effort at all. -shrug- Whatev. I can still dream about my free pencil.

Last year, I had plenty of down time. Hit the exhibition hall a couple of times, played a bit of DDR, participated in a Battlefield tournament, hung out in console freeplay for a while, saw some panels.

Though I did spend pretty much the whole time anticipating the next Omegathon round, so couldn't fully enjoy any of the previously listed activities without constantly checking my watch. But still, I could do them.

    So hey - Geometry Wars?

Bizarre name for a game - sounds like the "educational fun games" where you get to build a rocket or do some other "fun" thing, but your work is frequently interrupted by those nasty multiplication and division equations you have to solve to progress further.

Ok, so they weren't that nasty, but they were annoying.

I've read a lot of guesses about the games, but I never saw any hint of a suggestion about this one - never heard about it before today either. (I did look it up though, and I do realize it's not a math game). Has anyone played it before? I'm not an Omeganaut, but I'm still quite curious.

But aside from that... At least I have proof it wasn't a hallucination now. ;) And those games don't look so bad... Guitar hero will chew me up and spit me far, far away of course.. But I have vague memories of Geometry wars (or something like it) from childhood. And (if I get there) MarioKart is somewhat of a strength of mine.. Quake II, though... I'm gonna have to work on that one. :\ Anybody got any idea of the price on that one?
