Met another 'Naut at a Gamestop today.. (I think.) Pretty sure his tag was something like "true silver." No idea if we're all going by the tags we have here in the forum (probably not) but a big hello to that guy if he's around. Sorry if you found me ridiculously annoying.

And speaking of annoyance... You guys aren't all like dead serious about this, are you? 'Cause if you are, you're probably going to hate me. Lighten up and all. Don't want somebody glaring at me for laughing or joking around... (Happened before. Quite depressing.) Be cool, poke fun. ;)

Two Omeganauts in the same city, at the same Gamestop, at the same time? That's a rather large coincidence.

And I can't presume to speak about this year's group, but the Omeganauts were all pretty chill last year. Everyone was friendly, and we joked around a lot, and everyone genuinely wished everybody else the best of luck. Trash talking was nowhere to be seen.

I don't see the point in trash talking; I'm not in it to make enemies. Not to mention I don't recall ever seriously trash talking with someone but the times I do it light heartedly with friends I end up losing.

Y'all talk about getting ass-fucked so much I might mistake this as the planning forum for Anthrocon rather than PAX.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'm not sure... He worked there, though. Might help the odds. I'm assuming he must be one since he told me his tag. -shrug- Otherwise just a massive miscommunication. :?

Usually I find gamers to be nice. There's just a few here and there that get really uptight... Here's hoping this year's is full of the good kind. ;)

A little late for me to chime in, but I rarely get on the forums. Add me to the list of this year's Omeganauts.

I think the only notable part of my call from Gabe was the exchange that went something like this:

Gabe: "Are you interested in participating in the Omegathon this year?"

    Me: "Fuck yeah!"

Gabe: "That's what I wanted to hear."

    :)

Looking forward to meeting all the other 'nauts come Friday. Sounds like we should have a lot of fun! And remember... Jesus says, "Don't be a dick!".

Oh, and for the record? I expect to be utterly thrashed in Quake 2 (should I make it that far), but I'm sure I'll be smiling the whole time I'm getting pwned. Damn my 30 year old reflexes! ;)

If you're 30, Q2 should be your forte! Age and treachery will triumph over youth and ability any day.

Geez, don't damn your 30 year-old reflexes. At least you got to PLAY the game. I'm only 17. Barely even knew what Quake 2 was, let alone get in much practice. Not to mention all these other games... Yeah. I'm definitely trashed worse than you are.

And if I'm somehow the youngest here... I think I'll die. Any other teenagers out there? Anybody?? xP

I'm 19. Youre still younger but at least you aren't the only teenager.

Oh, and by the way, I think I've retired "UltraJ2000" everywhere else it still exists, so I'll lay it to rest at PA., too.
In a reveal of Clark Kent/Superman proportions, we find that:
    UltraJ2000 is really Flukeware!

...Hmm. Didn't have the impact I was going for. Anyway, new name. Also, you can call me Jake if you're not into the whole l33t g4mer74g approach. ;)

From the impression I'm getting, we'd better act friendly to each other, else by the time we finish our run in the Omegathon, everyone else will be BFF with other PAX attendees, and we'll be lonely eskimos. Thus, consider me a friend. A friend of consequence, yes, but a friend nonetheless. Potential upgrade to BFF on standby, awaiting an actual meeting... :P

    Later, 'Nauts.

*gasp*! shock and amazement! truths revealed!

had an awsome time last time and lookin forward to it again. though the omegathon will likely have me so nervous/busy I miss more than a few things this time around. Like swag. I don't generally go to cons or expo's, so I not to good as scoring the good stuff. But I can always brag about being in the omegathon so that makes up for it!

Not sure why I didn't think to check these forums after I got my call... but yeah, a bit late, but oh well.

I got my call at home. Can't really remember the specifics too well, it was a long day.

So yeah, I'm from Portland and am looking forward to competing this year since one of my good friends was an Omeganaut last year. Continuing a new tradition perhaps?

    GL and HF to all.

Last year, there was this ~10 year old who played well (and advanced past the first round) in the UT2k4 tourney. Blew me away. Point: massive range of ages represented at PAX, especially teenagers.

Oh, and uh... get off my lawn.

That kid has played in a few PAX tourneys at the 04 and 05 PAX. I'd bet he'll be back this year, and probably able to beat up on most of the folks twice his age.

    Not me of course.
