One serious Nintendo game I would love to see. A Zelda game that told of how Hyrule was flooded before the events of Windwaker. That has so much potential.
Yeah, I preferred the GCN AC over the DS AC for some reason... Maybe it's because of the big screen. Don't get me wrong, the DS was great because of the touch screen stuff, but it felt much better on the GCN to me.
One for the Wii would make me die happy.
There were a loooot of things I didn't like about Wild World (when compared to the GC one, at least). The small screen, less interesting and smaller towns, the lack of actual (or interesting) holidays, the music, the frame rate. Plus, online completely broke the game money-wise. Turnip trading destroyed the economy.
The DS one just seemed so much smaller and less interesting than the GC one in almost every way.
I think Miyamoto himself said Pikmin 3 is coming. Now, whether or not it'll be this year is the question.
We also know Animal Crossing is coming, and there have been far, FAR too many hints at Kid Icarus for that to not be a possibility. Kirby would be cool, and I'd be up for some Metroid Dread if it's finally happening.

I just want a Zelda Wii game, and I think we'll see one at E3. Think about it: TP was a port, and they could have started working on it before TP came out, so they could announce it at E3. Maybe. I hope. There was also that rumor a while back that Retro was doing a remake of ALttP, or something. Either way, there was also the interview with Aonuma where he said that TP was going to be the last game to use the OoT engine, so we'll hopefully see something completely different with the series. I just hope it's a bit more difficult than TP was, since it was just too damn easy for a Zelda game.

How? TP was harder than Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, or indeed most recent Zeldas.
Unless you're going back to Link to the Past.
Anyway, I hope Zelda Wii isn't in Hyrule. TP was a nice last hurrah for the setting, and I don't think we need it again.

So far this list isn't looking all that "core"... unless the new definition of "hard" gaming is "not casual party games". These titles are all pretty darn casual, except perhaps Pikmin.

Overall, I thought TP was the easiest of all the console Zelda games. Maybe it's just me, though. Where else would a Zelda game take place? Twilight realm, maybe? This kind of worries me; I'd rather they do away with the rehashes and same-old same-old. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll buy it no matter what they do with it.
E3 can't get here fast enough. The speculations in my brain are killing me.

Edited my post, I didn't mean "hardcore" as in Pro-level Quake tourney play, I meant "hard" or "core" stuff like Zelda, Metal Gear, Mega Man, Metroid, jRPGs catering to obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.
Y'know as opposed to "soft" titles like Animal Crossing.

I still hold out hope for a modern noir-style Zelda. Flappers! Gangster Ganon! Link still doesn't talk, but he does Inner Monologue! Admittedly, it would be a tough sell, especially if they replace the bow with a gun, but it would be different.
What's Metroid Dread supposed to be? I haven't heard much about it. I have some theories on what a next-gen Metroid should be.

What I want to see is Zelda in space.
Princess Zelda vs. Princess Rosalina in a pan-galactic Royal Rumble?
I am so there!
Exactly.
Also a ship called Epona with a Navi computer.
Actually I could see a "celestial temple" being amazing. The temple itself goes into the void, projections of stars all around. It could be absolutely badass. Really I think a great story would be where Gannon somehow puts an end to the reincarnation of the hero, and have a character who is not link, who is not a decendent become the hero, and in turn by the end he is by all intents and purposes, he is the new hero, but not link.
Perhaps a far away land where legends of the Hero have been told, and this boy (or girl) must go to Hyrule for one reason or another, perhaps due to war. Imagine Ganon put a stop to the hero line, and conquered Hyrule, and started extended his power to other regions, and so the other regions would have to war against hyrule. Yeah...
Damn that would be cool... and could be really dumb.

Dread is the fabled "Metroid 5" that's been rumored to exist since waaaay back when the DS first came out. Depending on who you ask, it's either a 2D or a 2.5D sequel to Fusion on the DS. One of the scans in Corruption seems to make a sly reference to it.

I will re-iterate a burning desire for Punch-Out Wii. It's been two console incarnations since we've had such a title.
Rumours claim that Next Level Games (Super Mario Strikers Charged) is on working on one. This was one of the last rumours from Surfergirl before it was shut down. But anyways, here are my predictions for the lineup:
Animal Crossing Wii
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Fatal Frame IV
Kid Icarus
Kirby Wii
Punch Out
Wario Land: the Shake Dimension
Wii Music

Ooooh, that'll work. Let the game recognize different types of swings, but keep it simple and rely on careful strategies... yeah.
I'll be happy with Animal Crossing, F Zero, and Kid Icarus. Maybe even Pikmin 3.
But if Nintendo wants to appeal to me, and I assume they mean me when they say qore, then they gotta do better than another iteration of Zelda. Unless it is that insane anti Zelda that dude made a thread about the other day. Then that will totally be okay.
Otherwise, I want new IPs (Not Wii * ). They don't necessarily have to be story heavy, just give me something to play and make the gameplay sound.
If there's a new Metroid, please give us a series reboot. The games aren't bad, but I don't like how revealing the story arch is. What made the first three game so special was the level of mystery involved surrounding everything. It made the game very alien. Voice acting, multiple characters, multiple game running story arcs. Leave that shit for Zelda.
I'll also take a new Star Tropics but know it's never coming.
And if Nintendo wants to truely be qore... Mother 3.
EDIT
Also, take the VS mode from New Super Mario Bros. and make a full blown WiiWare game with it.

Yeah. It's supposedly balance board game. I wouldn't be honestly surprised that new Punch-Out would be coming for several reasons:
a) Its trademark was renewed just few months ago
b) Next Level Games is working on 1st party title for Wii, we know that for sure.
c) Punch-Out would logical next step from Wii Sports Boxing
d) When Jeremy Parish (of 1UP) interviewed Miyamoto about Wii Fit, he asked why company hadn't any boxing game from Nintendo utilizing balance board, Miyamoto said "wait for E3".
e) Game was never popular in Japan, but for some reason, Brawl has both assist trophy and medley part dedicated to it. Quite surprising, as a whole, Brawl is quite japan centric, and ignores western IPs pretty bluntly.

The whole boy or girl thing is part of the aforementioned internal speculation that makes my brain want to explode. I keep imagining this character creator in the next Zelda, similar to a Mii but much more complex, but the basic theme is still similar, with the tunic-and-pointy-hat thing that's been going on since the beginning. Part of the reason for this is that Miyamoto has stated in interviews that he wants the player to be able to imagine him/herself as the hero, which is why you get to name yourself at the beginning (remember that this was unheard-of at the time of LoZ), so being able to customize a character makes sense from that standpoint. I don't think we'll see a noir-style Zelda; Ganondorf with a tommy gun just seems ridiculous in my mind. There was also a fake video a couple years ago that purported to show "very early concept sketches" of the next title in the series taking place in the distant future, though it showed a bunch of Star Wars concept art and was very obviously fake (I think it might have been one of those retarded April Fool's jokes), I don't know if that kind of idea would work either. Maybe have Hyrule entering an industrial age or something to that effect; done right, it could be awesome. Somebody also mentioned having Hyrule at war with another kingdom (or kingdoms), and I like that notion. How can there be only one kingdom in the world? It doesn't make sense. But that might not ever happen, given Miyamoto's distaste of stories in games (even though he started it). Online play would be nice too, but will happen sometime between "don't hold your breath" and "beware of flying pigs." Orchestrated music isn't even optional at this point; they have to do it. There's more, but this is getting out of hand already.

Oh, it wasn't fraud, just spotty. More than few rumours on the blog were true, and I even knew few of them due my own, personal sources. I guess that blog got its material from various sources, and few sources were less reliable than others. But some of them were way too accurate, if you catch my drift.
Although not really something a lot of "core gamers" would be interested in, it would be nice to get an update with more parts for Miis. It'd also be neat if there was a game that took the data from a Mii and used it to create a more realistic looking version of the Mii.
Quite surprising, as a whole, Brawl is quite japan centric, and ignores western IPs pretty bluntly.
Interesting stuff, but you're wrong about Brawl. It has a pretty heavy Metroid Prime presence in there for example, and the series was never popular in Japan.

Yeah, but there are also many western properties that were missing. Like Star Tropics, Eternal Darkness, Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, Unirally, TinStar, and Battleclash. And nearly all japanese properties were represented in the game, no matter how obscure.
As much as I love Punch-Out!! and would adore a sequel, could they really get away with shit like Soda Popinski anymore?
Yeah, why not. I don't really think that cartoony national stereotypes would offend anyone, if they wouldn't be brought too far. Did you know that Soda Popinski was called Vodka Drunkenski in arcade version of the game?

Given the bad blood between Silicon Knights and Nintendo the lack of Eternal Darkness is no surprise. Startropics I'll grant you, but the rest of them are so obscure they're not missed. Brawl doesn't have every single Japanese game Nintendo made either.
The whole "Brawl hates American stuff" meme started when people who read the Dojo regularly and were quick to jump to insane conclusions (that is to say, 75% of Dojo readers) noticed there wasn't any Metroid Prime stuff in there. They then randomly yet devotedly decided that the game makers hated American stuff based on no evidence whatsoever. Apparently that mindset remained after Dojo featured the Frigate Orpheon stage (from Prime).
Remember, there were legions of Brawl followers who swore to eat their cocks and the cocks of everyone around them if Samus' final smash transformed her into Zero Suit Samus, despite the fact that the very first video had exactly that.

Yes, yes I did, and it's pretty obvious in the NES version that he's not actually drinking soda.
Wait, was there anything horribly racist about Mr. Sandman? I don't even remember him having puffy racist Donut Lips.

Why would that matter when Nintendo completely owns the IP?
Doesn't that still make it a third-party property, though? And they only tossed in two characters, total, of that criteria. Plus, it still was a single game released recently and that didn't, to my knowledge, sell that well. Not to mention that it's a very M-rated series; sticking Lovecraftian horrors into a Smash Brothers game is amusing, it might be tricky.

Man, there's a lot of Zelda talk going on in this thread, and all of it makes me sick to my stomach. I personally hope that they keep all the subtle nuances and the setting and characters intact, if you guys want something so different, but maybe you'll get a new IP to answer all of those wishes.
I want all of us to get what we want, and all ... video games are our light, and such. Romeo and Juliet wasn't made any better when they changed the setting, I don't think Zelda will get any better with guns and moustachios and such. I personally was really excited when I saw the horseback portion of TP.
I think it'd be interesting if there were a Zelda mass battle sequence, I think they could pull it off on the Wii. Basically, making Link something like Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I'd just more or less like to see huge battles, with people on your side and hordes of moblins on the other side - black nuts - mounted moblins, etc. Depending on the time/place, you would be on horseback/on a boat/etc.

Not wanting to revisit an unhappy time. Corporations do crap like this all the time.

I don't know, oh well.
