Alright, I think you got me with advance wars. I could write off Rare as being 2nd party, and I was specifically talking about shooting people in regards to Fire Emblem. Advance wars though... I forgot somehow Nintendo found a way for war to be cartoony. :P
You watch people straight up die in Metroid Prime 3.

And I still think that a co-op based 3D Ice Climbers game would be the absolutely fantastic.
A co-op platformer would be absolutely fantastic.
Ice Climbers was an awful game with terrible controls and should be left entirely to nostalgia-fests like Smash Bros.
Oh yes it most certainly was, but it just gives them an excuse to make a co-op platformer. And I think the setting would be cool. I mean polar bears rocking swimming trunks and sunglasses? How can't you like that?

The same is true of Kid Icarus, but people are still getting excited about a new game in the series. Although granted, the game could be pretty fun if the gameplay were entirely different.

Yeah but it's Nintendo, and besides if it's a fun game then it really doesn't matter if it's a new IP or not.

That'll be the game in which Princess Peach figures out that she can file a restraining order on Bowser.
It'll also feature the following cases:
The People Vs. Bowser
The Mushroom Kingdom vs. Bowser
The Goombas vs. Bowser (unsafe work environment)
Bowser vs. Mrs. Bowser (she has years of unpaid child support)
"Mr. Bowser, where are the children in question?"
"Here's Bowser Jr."
"And the other 7?"

Wasn't there a rumour that Treasure might be making a sequel to Sin & Punishment? That could be really cool.
But I'm definitely hoping for Kid Icarus, F-Zero, any of those lesser known franchises getting another addition. Any hints to a new Zelda would be sweet to. And if Metroid Dread showed up, I would be really psyched.
You defend Bowser. Luigi is prosecutor. Through a series of cases, they reveal a plot twist showing that they are, in fact, brothers.
Daisy is your sidekick who sometimes acts as a psychic medium and evokes the spirit of Peach (murdered by Bowser, Jr. some time ago over Bowser's affection).
Is there a name we can call games that are using the Kill.switch system made popular by Gears of War? MGS4, GTA4 and Uncharted all use it, and I can only see more coming.
Where the hell is Wii Flight? That was my number 1 most anticipated game before the Wii came out. I figured it would be an addition to one of the minigame compilations like Wii Sports or Wii Play. But no, and here I am, still disappointed with my Wii purchase. Oh, sure I've beaten Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Smash, MP3, but not one of those allows me to use the remote as a damn plane. Also, where is Pilotwings?
There's also the hope that Dread or whatever comes after fusion is Samus vs the Galactic Federation, since she can pretty much be charged with treason at this point.
Well, MP3 implied that that one guy from Hunters is going to be a character in the next game, and since he's against the federation, it's possible that they team up.
I must be missing something, how was she treasonous?
Fusion spoilers
She hijacked and crashed a research station into a planet after refusing direct order, and stole a federation ship.
To me, the crappiest thing about fusion:
That wierd ass conversation between your ship, and the Federation guy. I mean... what the fuck was that? Was it supposed to build somewhere and I missed it?
Also, is it really necessary to spoil games as old as fusion? I mean, MP3 maybe... MAYBE. But fusion? That came out the same time MP1 did.
True, it's a just in case. I actually liked all the metroids, sure Fusion's easily the worst but still it's a good game.
Metroid 1, Return of Samus, Echoes, Pinball and Hunters would all like to have a word with you.
(I'm not saying that any of those games is really a bad one, just that Fusion is better than all of those)

That is outrageous and I will not stand for it.
As I understand it, wii flight was part of wii motorsports.
Which has not yet appeared.
Rumours are it is being made into pilotwings, but I've yet to see any evidence of this, so take it with a grain of a grain of salt.
Isn't Pilotwings a parachuting game? Or have I always heard wrong? Never played them.
YOU GET AN N64 AND PILOTWINGS 64 NOW SON. DO IT YESTERDAY.
OK, over-reaction. But it is a fantastic game. The SNES one was a mode 7 based arcade flight game, with several different modes of flight. But the 64 iteration is where the series got holyfuckawesome.
It's essentially a sandbox flight game. There are 4 islands, each with a very distinct design (small island resort, ice covered mountain, large tropical island and "little america") and a heck of a lot to see. There are quite a few distinct modes of flight which have a series of missions for each island (gyrocopter, hang-glider, rocket pack) as well as plenty of mini games (human cannon, sky diving, spring shoes). The game was also pretty unpunishing when you decided to go exploring in some of the missions, with the limitation being fuel or height. There was also a hidden wing suit that allowed for unlimited exploring (as long as you did not crash).
It was incredible for its time, and IMO, still holds up great. Put it on VC now Nintendo, you blithering idiots!

Well you've got me on Echoes, Pinball and Hunters but the first Metroid was the first, and there's nothing wrong with Return of Samus, especially for when they came out, they definitely haven't aged well but RoS is the only one where we y'know, hunt metroids :P.
My only complain about MP2 is that the level design is a bit more confusing, its very easy to get lost, but on everithing else its as good and sometimes even better than Prime 1.

So boost guardian is better than...meta ridley? does not compute.

I'd really like Nintendo to revive Project Hammer.

Meta Ridley looks very cool, but its also one of the easiest bosses of the game, wich is dissapointing, and Boost is not THAT hard.
Also, on nintendo games about killing mans, what about geist and the upcoming Disaster:DoC?

There is no way anyone in their right mind could possibly think the first two Metroids are better games than Fusion. Just no way. How "no way" is it? It's about as no way as saying that Hunters is better than Super. Yes, it's just that much no way.
Also, Echoes isn't bad at all... for the most part. Most of the game is fantastic, but then you get to the keyhunt at the end. *sigh* It just sits remarkably lame in-between two of the greatest 3D adventure games of all time. Kinda makes you wanna smack it upside the head for just not being as good as its two brothers.
Anyway, my point is that Fusion isn't even close to being the worst in the series. It's not as good as Super, Prime, Corruption or even Zero Mission, but it does sit snugly in the middle in terms of just awesome quality.

Echoes was alright, I found myself becoming bored.
Because of the ammo system, I felt myself saving as much as possible for doors, instead of using ammo for enemies. Because of this, I basically played the whole game with just the power beam... thats it.
About 80% of the way in, I figured out I could destroy boxes/crates for ammo instead of actually killing creatures like the game told me I had to do. So this is really just a context situation, but still...

Pokemon did it with the Mystery Dungeon spinoffs.
No no I just was giving an example of a genre named after a specific game.
Also, Metroidvania.
