A star wars game for the wii...centered around lightsabers...that even looks decent? Great Yoda's ghost!!

Supposedly in game shots:

and here's an interview

set to release during the Q4 holiday season.

still no 1 to 1 though...

I'm really digging the visual style.

My favorite part of that interview was how the developer felt like he had to answer every question with some form of "the Wii Remote is a Lightsaber!"

My head just split in two. One side is going....hrmmm. I should wait and check it out.

The other is doing cartwheels and running up walls and preparing to sell off stuff to buy a wii.

Excuse me I have to go knock him out now. I really should wait.

    edit: Ok all done.

So..is this the same one coming out on DS? Or is that another title name?

Going to be a massive letdown, like all wii games

people want accurate motion and position detection, and the wii can only handle the former

It's not going to be one one. They already said that.

It doesn't need to be one one. One one would actually suck, because then you need to completely learn how to use one from scratch.

Approximations let's you get right down into the nitty gritty of slashin dudes and usin force powas.

You have to slash bits of the level off to throw things at people with the force. Oh man.

yea, it looks to be nothing like what we ALL want. Will just have waggle bits, maybe a bit more intricate then just a single direction, but considering all the shots were done on a 2d plane at times, I'm expecting another fighting game with no real control besides pushing buttons and waggling a direction.

Holy crap they need to tone down those saber trails. And this game really doesn't look like a "saber simulator" or anything even approaching that. Looks more like a fighting game with lightsabers. Looks better than Teras Kasi, anyway.

And the Clone Wars CG movie looks fucking awesome.

C'mon guys, take the saber trails. It covers the bad art design quite nicely.

The only character that looks remotely good is Grievous...and he seems to not have Saber-trails...

I might die if soemone did a cell-shaded game version of the animated show though....

I wouldn't have nearly as much of a problem with the saber trails if they actually looked smooth and didn't have big ass angles and corners in them

KotOR had decent looking saber trails because they were understated and smooth and that game is like five years old now or something

Wow, that really does look quite good.

Just goes to show, when dealing with less power it's all about art style. The Wii's not quite good enough to portray a totally realistic world (Force Unleashed) but it does well with something more cartoony.

Trails don't bug me, it looks fun.

Then how do you deal with resistance, like when a lightsaber hits an enemy's lightsaber? The lightsaber stops in the game but the Wiimote keeps going.

I hope this game comes out good.

    Who cares? Rumble. There whatever.

It's about imagination! If you see your saber clash with someone on the screen you should stop as well. Or do it like if you keep pushing forward when you saber lock you loose the lock. It could be done quite easily.
