There was discussion a bit back about only having a SM campaign, as of a couple of months ago there was going to be an Ork campaign and a SM campaign, both playable co-op. Was there an announcement I missed that changed this?

Yeah, they said that they were making only SM playable becaue they wanted it to not suck like WA through SS's campaigns.

Solitaires are pretty cool I'll give you that, but they're almost dark eldar anyways. Definitely borderline.
Except for the part where they're not like dark eldar at all. Besides that, pretty close.

They play the part of slanesh in the harlequin plays, and as a result when they die, slaanesh will most likely claim their souls. (Like the dark eldar)
They're not like the Dark Eldar, the Dark Eldar perform horrible acts to try and appease Slaanesh and stop her from stealing their souls. The Solitaires are resigned to their fates, they don't give a damn.

do the eldar not have vocal cords or something? that farseer or warlock chick who sees the nid spore cloud as she is dying sounds like soundwave or something. or is that a farseer "my voice is also echoing in your skull" thing? she has some kind of headgear thing on.

I always thought it was just the headgear they wore since they all have that voice thing, but then not so I don't know. But warp spider voices are sure neat.

The pitch changes every so often, it sounds like a sound file being sped up, then slowed down for the next few words. It's actually a pretty neat effect.

    man dark eldar are great

I don't see the "emo" in them at all

what I see is hedonistic space pirates.

you don't see "eehhhh we're doomed to be consumed by an evil god, ehhhh, look at our cursed fate, ehhhh" as emo?

i mean the only difference is that to deal with it, they cut other people instead of themselves

Well, yeah. Women have no purpose on the battlefield and especially SoB since they weren't even introduced in DC and don't fit with 40k's theme.

Still, Eldar are better than everyone else.

    Q. Was the "frost" and "fire" weaponry replaced by something a little more canonical following the initial outcry at how weird/unfluffy they sounded?
    A. The frost and fire weapons were just place holder names because at that point we hadn’t had time to build all of our hand crafted items. We have now made a final list which has been approved by Games Workshop so you will find them much more canonical.

    Woo!

Also, the dark eldar arnt "Woe is is were going to be consumed by an evil god" they're pretty stoked about the lives they lead. Sex drugs and rock and roll and all that.

Does that plate wearing hardass motherfucker LOOK the height of an average human? Marines in fluff are depicted as 7-8 foot tall, and those are the short ones. The models, sadly, do not reflect this, so you are forgiven for your heresy.

I assume that since you're asking us to look at the height of a 2d image with no scale reference that the image itself is to 1:1 scale? If so then that Marine is clearly just short of the height of my hand when I point my palm to my screen. That's pretty damn short.
