Yeah. Illusionists have the capability to be really nasty once you can take care of the MP problems.

I finally got spellblade opened up. This will let my awesome summoner/elementalist learn Blood Price, which will be glorious. I got scholar open too, but it's kind of crap unless you really align your team for it. I guess I could buy everyone the fire/ice/lightning absorbing robes and run with that.

I've found that for Summoner/Elementalists, Halve-MP is decidedly better than Blood Price. Most of the summons are 8 mana, with the exception of Maduin and Phoenix which are 12, and so can be summoned once every other turn. With Summoner/Red Mages, then I think Blood Price gets good, but otherwise....

Dammit. I just picked up the special Paladin character, but I already have a Paladin/Parivir, a Heritor/Fighter, and a Hunter/Archer. What the hell do I do with another damn Hume (who's specced in attack/defense)?!

The reason Blood Price wins, IMO, is that you can double cast to your heart's content, whereas Halve MP doesn't allow for that as much.

My Red Mage/Summoner tends to open every battle by doublecasting Maduin into the closest crowd she can, and then follows that with a third Maduin and Phoenix on herself. Generally, this kills everyone she can reach and she's back at full health.

So Magic Frenzy is like totally fucking sweet. My utility Hume finally picked it up along with Halve MP so he can dish out some beastly damage out of the gates.

Fuck that, Magick Frenzy plus Illusionist. I just get either my alchemist to dose him with some ether, or my solider to rend his MP, and he's hitting everyone on the map on his first turn for 200-400 damage, depending on weaknesses.

Oh I'm sure there are easy-mode combinations with Illusionists. But Magick Frenzy looks cool when my Seer/Blue Mage with Dual Wield goes ape shit on someone.

I see no reason this is not the best Job/ability combo ever.

The Parivir mission is called Eastwatch or something and the Master Monk is Banbanga. I got both of them at around 50 or so missions.

They do have a specific purpose: to nuke everything. Really, why should battles take longer than they have to? Contrary to popular belief though, there are tactics other than doublecasting summons that are absurdly powerful. Paravir/Geomancy, Ultima Shot/Blood Price, Ultima Sword/Ether Shot/Trickster and Ether Shot/Turbo MP/Illusionist are good examples.

Am I doing it wrong, or are Flintlocks useless? They have to charge up to do any of their skills, whereas Canonneers have almost everything available without charging.

I love my Fusilier. Stopshot, charmshot, win.

It's one of the only jobs that I have completely mastered. It would be cool if that gave you some kind of bonus.

I got my hands on 2 luminous robes, one from bazaar, one from auction. I got some nice high end weapons without skills on them from the recent bazaar rounds too. I always spend too much on getting more tokens though.

Now I want the Doublecast rapier. That means I have to take Red magic, huh? Damn. Not that good compared to elemental magic or summoning.

Prior to unlocking the Fusilier class, my moogle had never won an MVP. Since, hes won it more than any other on my team, and he currently has the most complete tower.

When i first started doing the auctions, I blew a ton of CP on the 5-point coins. After I got proficient at reading the other players, and I could reliably hit bonuses, I could stop doing that, but what annoys me is that sometimes I cant get by without a huge number of 2- and 3-point coins. The first rounds usually have a large number of bidding rounds and no bonuses, and theres always some stupid bidder that will run the price up to like 23 or 25, and ill run out of the 2- and 3- point coins and because i didnt buy any extra 5-point coins, using the one I have wont save me. I freakin hate it when they do that.

Each rival clan is particularly attached to a specific territory, and I believe certain types of item. They will vigorously pursue their favorites no matter the cost.

It is a test of patience, but you can save before the auction and reset until you don't get the more annoying clans. Pygmalion, Air Bandits, and Prima Donna tend to be generically bullish, as well as a few others.

There's informative and fascinating threads on the various game mechanics, I think on gamefaqs, should you care to read.

You have to participate in something like 20 individual auctions before you can. You can win Camoa and Grazston without buying, I don't think you can win Moorabella. Just make sure to hit all three the first time you can.
