    Guys.

My girlfriend's older brother works for blizzard, along with his room mates. He hasn't been working there too long (only a few months), but his room mates are a programmer and art director, respectively. I've heard firsthand from one of these guys that the new game (new MMO I think) blizzard is working on is going to be an entirely new IP. Not sure if this is it, as they were apparently still in the concept stages last time I heard.

Just thought you guys would be interested in that little tidbit of insider information.

I would like to believe you. I really would. Because this is what I've been saying for a long time that Blizzard is going to do. But man, you have to understand my skepticism when you tell me your sources.

But yes, I'm still saying if it's not Diablo 3, it's going to be a new IP.

And I have said in other threads that I bet my ass that Blizzard is making a new IP and it's going to be an MMO. Don't know if this is necessarily going to be an announcement of it. It's just a hunch, afterall.

Ill take this with gratuitous amounts of salt, but interesting none the less.

It seems like a bad marketing move to me, if your going to attempt another MMO would you not want to base it off one of your already successful franchises?

and yes I did spell the word 'off' correctly, no matter how many times I try to edit it it still shows up as 'of'

Warcraft is all messed up because of World of Warcraft. Everyone is basically being killed off, since there are rumors that you face Deathwing as well. You kill the entire Outland Illidian Faction, the Undead Faction (Lich King, Kel and Anub) and possibly two of the Aspects (Malygos as well). If both the Lich King and Deathwing die, both of the largest living villains in Azeroth are dead.

Undermines and the Maelstorm are possible, but nothing is strong enough to face the players after after Northrend.

Emerald Dream is a long stretch and eventually only the twisting nether will remain.

Warcraft as a franchise is boned seriously. Warcraft 4 is going to be alternate universe, considerable time skip or something to that affect to have anything to work with.

Didn't Illidan just get recaptured by Maeiv (or whatever?) and now he's going back to be imprisoned??

Anyway, I'm sure Blizzard will leave little loopholes so they always have more content ready to push out to the masses.

This is exactly why I think that Blizzard is not going to make the same mistake twice - they aren't going to turn another pre-existing IP into an MMO.

There is really no way that they can have a game that continues where Warcraft 3 left off, because WoW has boned any decent story that War3 left behind.
