    Sylvanas is Kerrigan though!

They both fight a swarming evil, get defeated, get minor roles in the main game, get a larger role in the second game, rebel against the swarm mind to form their own faction and then ally themselves with the good guys.

Arthas and Sylvanas = Kerrigan. Traits in both of them. And the wanderer is the hero who killed Diablo, blah blah

Corruption is a really tired motif in Blizzard games, but I guess it's the main theme that spans them all.

Well, a lot more with Sylvanas. She was corrupted against her will and then betrayed her evil master so she could become free, but still evil. Just like Kerrigan and the Overmind.

Malfurion never fought Azshara. She was decently powerful during the War of the Ancients, but she literally did nothing throughout except primp herself and fantasize about Sargeras giving it to her long and hard. When the palace sank into the Well, she made a pact to serve the Old Gods in exchange for her life, and thus she became the Naga queen, and her retainers the Naga.

So, really, there's no frame of reference for her power. She was described as a very good mage before her Nagafication, but she never outright used her powers in any fashion in any of the lore.

Also, ner'zhul by himself was pretty damn powerful as well. He did manage to ravage an entire world and Kil'Jaeden gave him a power up. The biggest strength of the Lich King and the reason why he has near god status is that he has powerful psychic abilities which give him a) a legion of undead and b) mind control over weaker willed creatures. If he scrounges up more artifacts like how Illidan got the Skull of Gul'dan, he will pretty much ascend. Not as powerful as Kil'Jaeden, but still pretty damn powerful.

Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had one long horn, one big eye.
I commenced to shakin' and I said, "Ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple people eater to me.

It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater,
(One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater)
    A one-eyed one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me. (One eye?)

Well he came down to earth and lit in a tree
I said Mr. Purple People Eater don't eat me
I heard him say in a voice so gruff
I wouldn't eat you 'cos you're so tough

It was a one-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater
one-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater
one-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me. (one horn?)

I said Mr. Purple People Eater, what's your line?
He said it's eatin' purple people and it sure is fine
But that's not the reason that I came to land
I wanna get a job in a rock and roll band!

Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flying purple people eater.
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
(we wear short shorts) Flyin' purple people eater
    sure looks strange to me.

And then he swung from the tree and lit on the ground.
He started to rock, really rockin' around
It was a crazy little ditty with a swingin' tune
(sing awop bob aloo bop lop bam boom)

Well, bless my soul, rock and roll
    flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater.
    Flyin' little people eater
Sure looks strange to me. (purple people?)

And then he went on his way, and then what do you know.
I saw him last night on a TV show.
He was blowing it out, a' really knockin' em dead
Playing rock and roll music through the horn in his head

C'thun was weakened for some reason or another. I think, anyway. It seems like most of the non-humanoid bosses WoW tosses at us are weakened in some shape or form. Ragnaros was supposedly weakened by being yanked into the mortal plane or something - and we still hear about his ass (he's referenced in this Midsummer Festival shibang). I don't know about Kil'jaedan, though having your lower torso on the other half of the universe can't be too enjoyable.

The Maelstrom was caused by the summoning of Sargeras into the world by the Night Elves 10,000 years ago. The world joined forces to stop it and blew up the Well in the process, splitting the continent apart.

C'Thun was an Old God - who was still partially imprisoned and weak. Had he been at full power ( >9000) he woulda fucked some shit up.

I am not saying he was overly powerful, but he was impressive as a mortal. Even if you used artifacts, destroying a world is pretty impressive thing to have on your resume.

What. Read more. Ner'Zhul was an Orc who accidentally tore Draenor apart by opening portals using Medivh's artifacts and shit. A powerful, yet possessed Human would be Medivh. He has superduper powers by just being the Guardian of Tirisfal - plus he was possessed by Sargeras.

If he scrounges up more artifacts like how Illidan got the Skull of Gul'dan, he will pretty much ascend. Not as powerful as Kil'Jaeden, but still pretty damn powerful.

Ner'Zhul didn't have the power himself to 'ravage worlds'. You're mixing shit up. He opened a bunch of portals, using artifacts and teachings of Medivh (Gaurdian of Tirisfal / possessed by Sargeras - one of the most powerful beings evar) which ended up ripping apart the world of Draenor. Ner'Zhul was no big deal of a warlock / shaman.

And I hate myself for knowing all this shit since Warcraft lore is such a load of bullshit. When the main creator of most of the lore says "lolwhoops I forgot I wrote that about the Eredar / Sargeras / Draenei" - you get the feeling that not even Blizzard takes their shit seriously. This is not even getting into the plagiarism.

I am not saying he was overly powerful, but he was impressive as a mortal. Even if you used artifacts, destroying a world is pretty impressive thing to have on your resume.

Destroying a building by accidentally starting a fire is not impressive. It is incompetance. Opening portals does not equate to having fantastic powers. Anyone could had opened portals.
