Then again, I'm addicted to my Floatzel's superspeed Waterfall flinchhax. If the enemy does get one shotted, it usually flinches and dies to the followup! Shivneas. (Though Mr Nifty is faster. )
I must have horrible flinch luck, then - I never seem to get the flinch when I need it, although we're running as close to the same build for a Floatzel as possible with IVs and such.
Trust me, my EV spread is TOTALLY different. Kinda.
All this talk about flinchhax is making me reconsider a couple of abandoned breeding projects. Serene Grace plus various flinch moves is always fun to abuse, but aside from Togekiss and Dunsparce, most everything with Serene Grace doesn't have that much chance to abuse it. ...hmmm.
So Weezing is now 40, and I decided to go with Sludge/Explosion/Haze/Thunder. I figure he can take a few hits from anything but Psychic guys, and there's quite a few Water or Flying types that I'll definitely surprise. And if there's a Flying type or something else I don't want to risk Heracross on, I'm betting a Substitute/Stockpile passed from Drifblim will make Weezing even more annoying.
Now to level up Heracross. I'm still conflicted about whether or not to give him my one Stone Edge. I don't even think I have Rock Slide. He's got Brick Break/Aerial Ace/Night Slash/Counter right now. Replace BB with Close Combat as soon as he gets it.
Okay, I now have a Ditto for each nature that I will gladly loan out when needed. Rare candies are, of course, appreciated but not in the slightest necessary. I just ask that I get it back when you're done with it (you can take as long as you want with them too since, if all fails, I'll just catch another).
-EDIT-
This includes all neutral natures too since I felt OCD enough.
So, Smogon has its own Shoddy server, now. I'd be afraid, but it looks like they're busting Wobbuffet back to Ubers there. No word on Deoxys-E though.
I'm trying to finish filling up my Ranch game with the byproducts from my various breeding projects. Its actually proving quite hard to get 999 Pokemon to fill up that ranch. A full box of Pokemon seems like a lot, in D/P, but its nothing at all in Ranch.
Don't die on me Pokémon Thread, you were my first (thread)!
So whats everyone so busy doing that they can't stop by and talk pokemon?
Personally I've been playing FFTA2. Not enjoying it much.
Changed the thread title back. No objections? Good.
I'm a day late, but yeah I'll battle you RockinX. Or anyone else.
How do I cross out text? You know, put a line through it. I want to cross out the Deoxys event info instead of just deleting it.
Edit: Thanks Aggril. I was suppose to revive the thread, not you!
No idea how to do the crossout text, Ink, sorry. I'm just posting to take time out from trying to get the two most persnickety Pichu ever to evolve already. Stupid electric mice.
My breeding's coming along okay- been Ditto hunting while leveling friendship with an Eevee or two so I can get my own Espeon and Umbreon.
By the way, anyone want a Burmy? I spent three days looking for Heracross (only got one), but I have... oh, maybe twelve to fourteen Burmy, split roughly 50-50 on gender. Lots of Cherubi, Aipom, and a few female Combee, too.
[strike]So I farmed lucky eggs for my friends and myself and I ended up getting an extra one. For anyone who doesn't Wi-Fi battle that much it's really nice.
I'm now only seven Unown short of having all of the alphabet represented by them. The hardest part is actually making sure I only get Unown that I don't have yet now, since to me the majority of them are just 'random squiggle' not 'the letter L'. I've also noticed that tunnel-digging guy has made serious progress on his tunnel, even though I haven't brought him the latest batch of Unown I've caught. I thought he needed to see them in order to extend the tunnel. Not that I'm complaining- only being able to carry in six Unown at a time max, it would take at least five trips in and out of there to show them all off.
Ive found that the best way to raise happiness is to use the soothe bell on a poke when youre hatching eggs. Yeah you can only hatch 4 eggs at a time (the soothe bell poke and a flame body poke take the other two spots) but youre almost guaranteed to get the happiness you need after a few batches of hatching.
So I found that the nasty plotting special attack ambipom I raised is pretty much worthless due to not being able to do enough damage before it keels over dead. I had planned to give it shock wave, swift, water pulse, and nasty plot, but ran out of water pulses. Maybe a focus sash or brightpowder would help? Right now he's a substandard nasty plot passer.
I raised a vaporeon and ev trained its special attack and speed. It's kind of lackluster. I'm thinking I should retrain it in defenses, but I dont know much about water puppies. Any ideas?
I raised a medicham and it didnt do as much damage as I assumed it would. I just gave it the elemental punches though. I picked up an expert belt I thought might help it out a bit.
The last failure of my recent batch was an Espeon. I'm noticing there isnt much for move variety. Calm Mind, Psychic, Grass Knot, Shadowball seems to be about the best I can do with it. Anyone else make a good one?
Anyway, I have a trio of new pokes Im going to start up on, and hopefully they wont displease me. I'm also considering Scyther/Scizor. Is scizor too slow for the attack boost (and cool look) to make up for it? Also quad weakness to fire isnt fun.
Yeah, the only reason physical Evire is so underwhelming is that it relies heavily on elemental punches, which aren't really that good.
Persian is generally better at the Nasty Plot attacking thing due to having Hypnosis (Swift/Water Pulse covers every non-uber poke not named Empoleon or Shedinja, so you don't really need a third move) and also possesses higher base SpA. So NP-passer is probably better for that sort of Ambipom, as persian cannot learn Baton Pass.
Eevees take too damn long to hatch, and I'm currently distracted by Pokemon Emerald (Is it just me, or is Emerald's single player story a lot more fun/challenging than DP's? Norman's Slaking kicks ass, surprise Countered my +6 def Aron and then took two STAB overheats easily. Had to Selfdestruct on the damn thing) and TF2, so I've been breeding the same guy for two weeks. Bleh.
EDIT: Oh, @Scizor. Yeah, quad fire weakness is bad, but it makes up for it by having no other weaknesses, and some very useful resistances. Scyther has a quad weakness to Rock, and thus takes 50% from SR. It's also weak to Fire, Flying, Electric, and Ice. Scizor is sturdy enough to pull off Baton Passing, but it's an excellent attacker in its own right, with Swords Dance or Agility + Roost with a Life Orb attached. It's really an awesome pokemon.
All eevees are killed by their lack of solid movepools. I guess you can't blame the two new ones but there is no excuse for gen 1 and 2 pokemon to have such few options when it comes to moves.
Jolteon and Umbreon are both OU - limited movesets aside, they get by!
My umbreon was the most irritating when it wasn't being killed instantly.

Baton Pass
3 charms and a baton pass to a gyarados -> 6 dragon dances.
Only really works when someone gets charmed on a switch in, underestimates the effect, and attacks anyway.

And I still have this Adamant, Tech, Att/Spd trained Scyther that I don't know what to do with.
Edit: I'm online.
Also I'm counting your last Pokemon as having gone down because Lutopiscis would've survived a non-crit of that move, and then fainted him.
EDIT: Yeah, I thought I had given him that. I guess I can just give him one of those anti-EV berries for HP.

Stupid Wingulls.

I can has cheezburger, yes?
All I ask for is rare candies as usual.
And this stupid Pichu is still not happy.

About your Ambipom, that's one of its uses, actually. You also use it for facing a poké with low sp def.
Also, elemental punches don't have a power of 100, which is why they don't deal as much damage as you'd like.

I think Jolteon is still in the OU circuit mainly because people don't have the heart to take him out.
