As far as frustration over difficulty, my recommendation with Mega Man games is to take slowly and methodically. You just can't run through the levels in these games. This is hardly a Sonic game.
Just move through each level methodically. Watch for what is up ahead. Use your Weapons to your advantage. Try and find weaknesses in the low level enemies' attacks. Look for ways to use Rush and other items practically.
If you need to, buy a bunch of E Tanks and use them wisely.
It makes it much easier and less frustrating if you do these things.
Ah, good old E tanks. Such the good life extender. Unfortunately they don't do any good for that GODDAMN PLATFORM ON JEWEL MAN'S STAGE WHERE YOU HAVE TO SWING THE PLATFORM FAST ENOUGH TO FALL DOWN THE TINY GAP IN THE SPIKES BUT NOT SO FAST YOU SLAM INTO THE SIDE SPIKES YARRRRRRRRGH ARGLE BARGLE BARGLE
Still steamed about that one.
Is that the first or second swing? The second one is pretty simple.
Just walk off the platform when it swing far enough.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... Maybe it's a good thing I can't download this. I don't know if I can take a game that will have me die multiple times. I'm not in the mood to get my butt kicked. :P
I downloaded it last night at around 11:30, and my wife was dozing off on the couch next to me. I played for about 10 minutes in Galaxy Man's stage, realized that this was the type of game that was going to have me shaking the controller in a blinding rage, and stopped because I was going to wake her up and she would have been irritated with me.
Haha, that's exactly it. I don't want people to call me and I'm already flustered about a video game. That makes people say things that makes me want to hurt them.
Namely: "It's just a video game! Don't get so worked up about it!"
:x
All too often my Mother will call me when I am in the middle of an extremely frustrating game. This leads to me yelling unspeakable things into the phone which i promptly forget.
Or you can jump up on the left one and just barely rush jet your way to the one on the right.
Ugh... you can FREEZE them?
Considering the utility of that weapon, they could have at least MENTIONED some of the uses. Kinda like how in MM7 where Dr. Light will say during the description if it does anything unique.

I...I don't recall my NES being able to output progressive scan.
That is relevant how?
Games should output in at least 480p and widescreen, standard.
For the love of God...when will the endless complaints about no progressive scan stop (and the opinions that this game is a cash cow)? I've heard more gamers bitch and moan about how easy games are today as opposed to how difficult they are. Suddenly, a bonafide blast from the past comes along (and really, who doesn't like Mega Man?) and the candy-coated, no-substance game wool has been pulled over their eyes. It doesn't have progressive scan...cry some more, and go play Halo 3. I'll continue playing Mega Man 9 not only because I'm old enough to remember when games were awesome, but also because they gave to the fans a SERIOUS GODDAMN BONER of a game.
Progressive Scan should be standard because a vast majority of TVs have shit for scalers and will absolutely maul a 480i game.
Adding progressive scan takes nothing nor really adds anything to the game itself, but can allow more people to play it without problems. It's not that fancy to implement.
also: 480p would have been nice but eh, I don't really care. Even if it had been in progressive scan, it wouldn't have been widescrean. There would be bars on the side, just as there are now.
What is the 360 version going to output in? Some of the guys at IGN have said that the arcade version is actually blurrier than the wii version, for whatever reason.

Ok somehow I can blow through the castle in 15 minutes but I cant take the final boss. Like, the first form is hard as shit and it infuriates me so. I just cant deflect those things back right. If I ever DO finish it I have no life left, and the second form seems easy but I feel so defeated from the first I get sloppy.
I made it this far on pure mega buster but I think if I make it to form 3 I will have no shame in blowing his ass away with his weakness.
Is there some kind of magic trick to form 1 though?

I just stood on the edge of the screen and, without really any thought for accuracy, kept jumping and shooting wild. If it looked like I couldn't hit it and had enough time to react, I would let it bounce over me.
If you still have ammo for it, you could probably try using the laser trident since it shoots faster and has a slightly larger shot size.

Dag, this game is hard.
I just picked it up, played all 8 levels but only managed to reach Galaxy Man and Splash Woman, killing Galaxy Man on my second try.
To some people it is. The only dick move Capcom got me with is the storm only pushing you back in the air and not all the time as in prior MegaMan games.

Played it. Beat it. Not overly challenging, nothing really memorable except that it cost 10 bucks and if I want to get any replay out of it, I'll have to shell out more cash.

O_o, FREEZE THE BEAM!? I've been doing the fucking Rush Coil to get on to the ladders!
What I would do is right after I went up to the screen with the three beams is that I would use the rush Coil to jump on the ladder right above me, then go up to the next screen. Then I would jump back down and quickly use the rush coil on the right side to go on the right screen.
Took down Jewel Man and Splash Woman last night. Will report in as more comes. Oh... I still hate dissapearing blocks. Screw plug man. Atleast it's not as ludicrous is MM 1.

Haha, me too. I even tried all my weapons on the flows, but I didn't actually hit the beams themselves... no wonder it didn't work. :P It's great that there are multiple solutions to the same problem (some more elegant than others...), and that you actually have to use your weapons (and not just the utility ones!) in order to progress through the Wily stages.

I would love to meet the chucklefuck developer who decided that CONCRETE would solidify and stop LAVA. I mean, ice may not make much sense either, but at least that has elemental logic behind it. But no, when I'm facing a searing beam of fire, my first thought is not "I wonder if my weapon that shoots out a chunk of stone will stop it".

Well, looking at the other weapons in the disposal, it's really the only weapon that makes sense. I instinctively knew that I had to use a special weapon to puzzle my way up the room, and the Concrete Shot was actually the first one I used. Unfortunately, I also decided to throw it on the flow opening to try and 'plug it up', and not on the actual flow itself.

Well, never mind the concrete thing, you're in an universe where dead leaves stop most weapons. It is, hoiwever, the only weapon that can paralyse stuff, so it makes sense to try it.

Oh, poor you. Look, next time you go out for a 10 dollar dinner that sucks ass, remind yourself that you could have had a video game for the same price.
I was thinking about getting this game but I just read about the DLC bullshit and am now so disgusted that I'm going to boycott it instead. This is just pathetic.

Is that the first or second swing? The second one is pretty simple.
Glad I'm not the only one.
Yes. I am absolutely sure of it.
I second that. I'd rather watch him play a MM game than play it myself.

Tornado Mans stage is hard?
I believe it was Rockman no Constancy.
Video game logic is weird. Ice Shotgun froze lava in MegaMan X.
