I wonder which console this will sell best on... I also wonder how soon we will have sales figures.
I wonder, could it be the one it was released first on and the one which had all the hype around it, or the two with shitty controls and muddy pictures, hmm.
The real challenge is if Wii can beat HD combined.
Granted I've only played the demo but the ps3 version doesn't look muddy and the controls for it are fine. Why must you be such a Nintendo whore? (I think the wii version will sell the most, but not beat them out combined)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
It's also not the controls per se but the controller. Who in their right minds would pay to play any game, let alone one that needed precise digital input, on the DS3 or SIXAXIS when they could use the Wii Remote or Classic Controller?
I'll take your word on the muddy graphics, but the D-pad has always been fine on the playstation controllers. Its nice and large and sits in a prominent place on the controller. It might not be as good as the NES cross for for performing arcs such as used in fighters, but that isn't used in Megaman.

The PS3 controller is fine, and the D-Pad on the Wii Remote isn't that much better. Exaggerate much?
I'm just mainly interested in graphical differences. So by muddy, or you just saying that its colors are not as vibrant as the Wii version? I imagine the graphics would be ... sharper on the PS3, since the Wii version is stuck at 480i.

I honestly would rather play on the DS3 because I think it's way better controller than the Wii Remote or even the classic controller especially playing Mega Man on it but not to say it's bad to play on the Wii Remote but I think the DS3 is the better contoller to play it on.
I am not sure about the muddy graphics though i really didn't notice much difference.
Fair enough. I was a bit too strong denouncing the controls on the PS3 version. It should work just fine for those used to it. (In fact my friend who has the PS3 version needed help beating a few of the levels so I did it for him, and the adjustment wasn't THAT bad.)

The choice for me is simple though Wii>PS3>>>360.
I can fully understand that especially since with the D-pad on the 360 is so bad, I can't imagine playing this on it but it's all good.
I'm wondering if the muddy graphics had more to do with the TV than the port. People with ps3s probably have a higher chance of having 1080p televisions and usually the higher res TVs are not all that good at scaling 480i/p signals.

Except those TVs aren't scaling anything for MM9, since the PS3 outputs the game at 1080p.

Yeah but does the ps3 actually render the game at 1080p or does it just scale it to 1080p. I bet it just scales it and might be better served outputting it in its native resolution of 480i/p. Anyway Xeno says he played the ps3 version on his friends console and the only worthwhile comparison is on the same TV so I remain unconvinced.

The Classic Controller's D-Pad is the best D-Pad ever.
Maybe I'll take the plunge and buy the Wii version, and do various comparisons to the demo of the PS3 version (Wii/Component vs. [email protected]/HDMI, Wii vs. [email protected]/Component).
If it turns out they look the same, whatever. If the PS3 version looks better, you guys owe me 1,000 Wii Points.
They give you 8 or 9 save slots on the Wii version. Typical Megaman, in that it saves your progress through bosses and items but not the Wily Stages. However, (and I think this is new) it does save your lives.
And I spent about half an hour trying to get the "don't shoot one bullet" in tornado man's stage (I kept dying at the first magnet platforms till I was on my last life, then do a stupid error 3 steps before the boss room and had to restart all the stage again.).
Try it in Splash Woman's stage - it's pretty easy.
I've been trying to get Bunny Hop. I managed to go through Galaxy Man's stage and fulfill the requirements (less than 50 jumps), but I didn't get it. I'm going to try again - maybe it counts anytime you're airborne as a jump (like walking off a ledge, counting Rush Coil as 2, etc)...

Sounds like fun. I'd be interested to hear your report.

Can someone tell me why the fuck Capcom didn't make the challenges trophies?
"Because the trophy spec came to late in the development cycle of the game"
Is the official reason. I guess they didn't want to have to recode the challenge bits... Yeah seems like a pretty weak excuse especially for such a "simple" game. (I think they have to upgrade all their devel tools to a newer version to take advantage of the features.) Who knows maybe they'll patch it in later, though all the nickle and diming with the DLC does not leave me hopeful. (Puzzle figher was later patched with voice support, also by Capcom so ya never know)

Man... the leaderboards are getting those all-clear times down, down, down! Under 25 minutes? Whoa... those people have gotten almost all the challenges as well, the only two missing being "Beat the game 30 times" and "Beat the game while taking no damage". Unbelievable...
If someone has this on PS3 and doesn't have Wipeout I'll trade. Hell, you would even come out on top in the deal!
I've got this on the PS3...I guess I'm behind on the times, what do you mean by trade? I'm extremely interested in wipeout.
Games bought on the PSN can be downloaded on up to 5 separate PS3s. This is done by giving someone your login info (after removing your credit card info so they can't buy things) and they login to the PSN with your stuff and download the game. Then they would sign out (and you would change your password for safety) and then the game plays just like normal on any other account. There's a whole thread on the SA forums dedicated to it. In fact, Sony encourages this practice with every game but GT5: Prologue and Warhawk.
Edit: Once the game downloads have begun you can sign back in as your regular PS3 user. This will not disrupt the download in any way.
Also, remember that to continue to play this game you must keep the user account that purchased it on the system. Simple enough, just don't delete it.
So you guys gonna drop the $2 for Proto Man? When I saw the vids of him in action, it looked totally worth it. Charge, and slide. Course the game will be even harder with him. That last part kinda sucks.

Yeah, I'll probably pick him up on DLC - IGN was the one with the videos and overview of Protoman's abilities, right? Double damage and knockback taken with the inability to buy things at the lab will make the mode something for experts. Kind of makes me wonder what else will be different for the extra difficulty levels in DLC. I'm probably not going to touch those, but I'll be interested in what the extra stages have to offer.

I can't be the only person who thought purchasing the Roll item meant getting the ability to play as her.
I'm a bit disappointed it took me as long to beat as it did. And all the powerups I wasted on the final boss; I like to beat the games clean (no E-tanks and such) if possible. For this one, though, I don't mind so much.
My only disappointments with the end-game are
No Bass at all, and the end music wasn't THE Megaman end music!

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

I saw Bass there.
It was just a picture or a model or something in one of Wily's computers.

Well, and the Rush Jet.
Probably my favorite music so far.
Yeah, the rushjet is what I'm talking about.
The section with the noisemaker plants and scissors and spikes doesn't look too hard, but it can give you fits if you unfurl one of those early.

I think it's Oct. 1 for all the released platforms (of course, the 360 won't have released yet.)

Still haven't bought Eddie or Beat. Probably should test them out.
