Can't find Mario Kart

Why is it that this game was released 2 months ago and I can't find a copy of it anywhere? No online stores have them in stock and no B&M's in my area do either. A guy at one of the gamestops we went to said they had stopped production on it so they could make more wii fits. That sounds completely implausible, but is there some reason no one is getting this game in stock? We've been trying to get this for three weeks now with no luck.

    Watch the Amazon Goldbox deals today, one of the titles coming up sounds like it could be Mario KArt.

    It is supposedly Mario Kart DS according to a leaked list I saw (but can't remember where).

    I saw the thread on that in the G&T forum, but someone posted a link from CAG that said it was the DS game. I'm definitely going to check it out just in case, but I'm pretty sure that isn't it.

    Best Buy online has is for 35 dollars. That is if you can break gamer code, and buy a game at a mainstream retailer. :]
