I wonder how the Spider-Man film series would have turned out if they'd gone the Ultimate Spider-Man route and set the story in high school rather than post-graduation.

Interestingly enough, the new Spidey cartoon is going to have Kong from USM in it.
Interestingly enough, the new Spidey cartoon is going to have Kong from USM in it.
A speaking role in a hit movie, regular character on a TV show, possible romance with an attractive young mutant woman... things are looking up for the Kongster.
The dance itself was delightfully hilarious, but it's pretty much the most glaring reminder of my biggest gripe with the film. Its failure to pick a tone and stick with it. The goofy parts were good on thier own but they really undermined the dark serious parts. They just weren't mixed together very well. Individually they are decent pieces but they just don't make a coherent or satisfying whole.

This is good, I like Kong.
t Forar, Skrulls don't dance, and don't appreciate those who do.
As for the movie, yeah 2 was Greatest, and 3 was obviously all over the place and really just a mess of the film. That still doesn't make the whole Tobey Strut/Dance stuff not my favorite part of the movie. Topher Grace with "Please God..... kill Peter Parker" would definitely be the runner up.
Personally everything where Peter has the Symbiote was good. Everything after he ditched it was bad. The beginning was... meh.
Ultimate Spider-Man Cartoon?! I MUST KNOW EVERYTHING.

's called the Spectacular Spider-Man, and it seems strongly influenced by USM (bit how the Ultimate Avengers movies are influenced by the Ultimates). So far, animation looks good (smacks a bit of The Batman). So far at least Vulture, Doc Ock, Sandman, and Venom are due to appear (how close they'll be to either mainstream or Ultimate versions is unknown).
The bit with the Sandman in the pit was brilliant, I thought (rewatched it last night with the girl). Considering there's no dialogue and it is essentially just a CGI man made of sand, it contains more emotion than the rest of them film put together.
And I liked the Spidey / GG teamup at the end, just because it was written really well.

What?
Alfred-ripoff Butler guy comes out of nowhere and talks Harry into giving up the festering black hatred of Spidey/Peter that he's carried across 3 films in a single conversation about how his dad was actually kind've a dick, and suddenly Harry's all "I love you, buddy!" and "Let's do this, buddy!". Well-written would've been him going just to save MJ because he still carries a torch for her, and then she begs him to help Peter, a la 'Death of Harry' in the original comic books.
Although I agree that that Sandman scene was the best part of that movie.
I enjoyed the dancing, but found it weird that an Alien Symbiote makes you a great dancer.
I didnt have a problem with that aspect, Considering how agile Spider-Man is supposed to be in general it would be weirder if he was a shitty dancer.
The final scene is awesome because it seems like a lot of comic book movies skrimp out out on the multi hero battle scenes. It was great to see a superhero tag team on the big screen.

I was hoping during the big dance scene they'd just go anchorman on the fucker and have Pete whip out a Jazz Flute.
My biggest gripe with the butler scene in Spiderman 3 was the fact that the butler has clearly known what happened for the last 2 movies.
YET DIDN'T FUCKING FEEL THE NEED TO MENTION IT TO HARRY!
"Oh i'm sorry sir, i had some very important dusting to do and thought that it was best to let you fester with dark malice and plot to murder your best friend after he tried to save your fathers life"
I'm sorry, but SM3 was literally the worst film I've ever sat through; the idea that any of us are talking about the ostensible "good" parts is just mind blowing...frankly, the only thing that was even tolerable were the effects/fights.
I'm expecting the 'Magneto' in Ultimate Spider-man and his Amazing Friends will be revealed as Mysterio at the end of the second (of three) issues.
Mark my words.
That... is actually not a bad idea. That would make for a good story twist. We shall have to see. Magneto is definately out there for real though, so he just might make a few appearances in preparation for Ultimates 3.

Wow, if that was the worst movie that you've ever sat through, then I guess you either don't see that many movies, or you walk out of them at the drop of a hat...
I'm not saying it was spectacular or anything, but as someone who sees a lot of films, it wasn't even the worst superhero film I've ever seen, let alone the worst film ever!

Well, SM3 is one of the worst movies I've sat through in a theater, but then again, I tend to see all my bad movies at home.
Wait, shit, no. I've seen all 3 Resident Evils in theaters(WHY DO MY FRIENDS KEEP DRAGGING ME) and the Grudge.
And X-Men 3.
And Jurassic Park 2 and 3.
Hmm, Spider-man 3 just keeps getting further away from "worst movies ever" now that I think about it.
Shit I think I saw Batman Forever(or Returns. Which one had Mr. Freeze?) in the theater too.

Returns was Tim Burton, with DeVito as Penguin and Pfeiffer as Catwoman.
I've seen all the Batman films in the cinemas, and in hindsight I have no idea why. I enjoyed the original Tim Burton one (speaking as someone who has never read a Batman comic) but the rest were excruciatingly awful right up until Batman Begins, which I found enjoyable.

Is Brooks the one who did the Annuals? God I love him. Does he have a full time book already?
He's drawing the current arc of Ultimate FF
He was best as a dick.
But that was it.
Fuck that outlandish dancing shit.

Oh, but to the contrary, I'd say that enjoying such a prolonged and unnecessary dancing display would be awfully Skrully.
A speaking role in a hit movie, regular character on a TV show, possible romance with an attractive young mutant woman... things are looking up for the Kongster.
Spider-Man 2 did it oh so much better.
Also, strutting.
This is good, I like Kong.

Any and all complaints I might've had about the movie aside, that bit was pretty damned awesome.

No no, that title goes to the comically awful Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (which does have the best line ever in a movie, not safe for work!!)

Batman Forever was Riddler/Two-Face

I enjoy Batman & Robin for its numerous ice puns.
