I might be late on this but mother issue 133 was great. Are the ultimatum books any good? I'm only readling usm as of now.
Really? You're the first person I've seen say 133 was great. Most people think it was okay down to awful.
What exactly made it so great for you?

For me it was the first marvel book to actually show complete destruction and chaos. None of the past marvel events from five years ago till now showed what 133 did. I also love love love the lack of dialog which goes to when I first read Flight and there is the story of the Rex which is all done without dialog.
With that I have also gone into this whole ultimatum deal expecting it to flat out rape my usm.
I will give Ultimatum credit for actually delivering on large-scale destruction and character death, even if it was exploitative and poorly written. I'll give even bigger props if Marvel has the balls to kill Wolverine at the end.
It's been said before in this thread, but I found 133 to be the weakest USM in a long time. It didn't play to any of Bendis's strengths, the story wasn't engaging enough to be told in a completely visual way, and even if it had been, the art was in no way up to the task of conveying the story properly.
That being said, yes, New York was destroyed. They showed that well. Frankly though, I think they showed it better in Requiem 1, while giving it the human element 133 needed but couldn't accomplish. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but it was also far from good.
However, I did love Requiem and can't wait to get part 2... whenever that is.

I have a feeling they delayed Ultimatum this last time just so it won't come out before SDCC so people can just trash it at panels.
As it stands now, you may have some people saying it's shit, and asking Marvel if Dave Finch will ever be given work by them again, but you add a crappy conclusion on top of it, a few days before the big convention? It would really be a black eye for any Marvel panel.
The last frame of Requiem 1/2 gave me goosebumps. I've been so unhappy with Ultimatum (who hasn't?) and I feel like all the comics I've bought and collected for USM are worthless. All the character development: washed away.
Still: the panel of NYC after the flood was fantastic. *sigh*
So I guess it ain't Jessica Drew behind the mask. And the art still hasn't won me over. I kept wondering what the hell Quicksilver was doing there until I realized that's Aunt May.
At the end of USM Requiem (or was it Ultimatum...?), there is a shot of Captain America digging through the rubble and finding Spider-man (Peter Parker). The very last panel has Peter Parker opening his eyes.

I still don't think it'll be Peter initially. The experience will be too traumatic for his circle of family/friends and convince him to stay away from the mask for a while.
That art's perfect for the light-hearted tone I hope the book takes on after the relaunch. And yeah, I think that's his new supporting cast, which is awesome, all of those characters are great.

That cover shot reminded me, whatever happened to Liz? I saw her briefly while flipping through an ultimatum X-men book. Please tell me she still lives.
One of Spidey's strengths has always been his supporting cast, and that cast looks fantastic.
The art is actually growing on me, and thank god for that. I still think Spidey's head is way to round, but who knows... maybe it will even out after a while. Or maybe it's really Mysterio under the mask.

I wonder if Kong and MJ's parents are still alive following Ultimatum.
Also, I'm surprised the series is continuing in New York right off the bat rather than taking a break for reconstruction. Even if the cast is dead set on living there, one imagines that reconstruction would take a while.
I thought I read somewhere that all the UC titles will be set a year or two after Ultimatum so most of the major reconstruction should already be done.
the single greatest page of any USM issue ever is the page with Kong doing pushups
Also Kong revealing to everyone he knows Peter is Spider-Man.
Also his line in the Spider-Man movie.

I dont like Ultimate Red Skull's (alleged) origin, but damn if that isn't a cool cover. Looks like I'm buying 3 copies of Ultimate Comics Avengers... IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!

We finally get some aftermath stuff involving Ultimatum, and more awesome Bagley art.
Torch and Iceman! and Kitty! And Kong lifting his arms up for some reason!
It's just nice to see smiles in an Ultimate comic, we haven't seen them since when, December?

And if two of the other UFF are going to show up in Avengers, I guess they'll also be in the background for a bit until this relaunch finds its legs.
All of them were in USM pretty often.
It's a clone.
Diablo 3 - ArtfulDodger#1572
Minecraft - ArtfulDodger42
Thats adorable but its bothering me how flat MJ's head is.

Particularly the smug look on his face when Kitty is all "I didn't tell him I swear!" and he's "she didn't tell me"
Pretty cool I must say.
You could add something after it like the general hatred of Jeph Loeb.
