there's a good possibility that I'm completely done with MMOs, since the only two I sunk considerable time into are ones I haven't been able to make myself pay when I had a subscription
city of heroes I kept going in and going "hell yes character transfer" or "hell yes aliens" and then I think I annoy everyone there including myself and forget to log in again
and WoW, I last longer since I was in a rad guild, but even then I couldn't make myself play very long and then my account got hacked so

i remember every time i made a new character, though, i was so obsessive that i would take the hour or two in virtual reality to get experience for all the guns and weapons
they ironed the shit out of the problems it had and the higher-level content was really pretty and the semi-twitchness of it is fun
I am so tired of MMOs releasing, then 'fixing all their problems' and trying to entice people to come back and see how not fucked up they are anymore

It's very rare that an MMO has the time to get all their shit together at the time of release. Time constraints are gay.
Also, there's a ton of shit that really can't be tested without masses of players testing how good your hardware is, and lots of smarter players showing you all of the little loopholes and shit that need to be fixed.
You know a game is hardcore when it has a built-in calculator.

why did you expect them to, I wasn't kidding about them being the worst programmers ever
I mean besides the whole boot.ini thing, tcp packets get up to like 200k in large battles (at least I think it was 200k, some stupid big number), leading to the 5-10 minute lag on actions

Literally none of them are games I would play if they were one player games
That's going to be my new test for MMOs
when there's one I would actually play if there were no guilds, teams, markets, whatever, when there's an MMO where the actual mechanics are as fun as say, Sonic the fucking hedgehog from 1991, perhaps I'll get deeply involved with one.
Until then, I like open worlds with interesting synthetic economies and societies, so its really either EVE or second life
And I have this problem with half of the people being furries with huge purple dongs and the other have having 500 linden "custom avs" that look like horrible female realldolls.

I used to do burnouts on people's faces with that one fast attack tank
either that or load up the big ass helo transport with dudes, flip it over upside down and bail out sending them to their deaths
i start to get bored of the game, and then they are like "NEW ISSUE WITH GREAT NEW CONTENT" and i am like ffffffffffffine

i like the gameplay and character design and stuff
in fact it would be fucking awesome if there was a single-player superhero game that let you create your own hero or team of heroes
that would be awesome
something like freedom force but with a more in-depth character creation thing and a storyline that took into account your choices
i also can't think of a single-player game i would play as an MMO
they're just designed differently
