As for Nerdcore, Frontalot sometimes has good flow, but other times seems to be just doing it wrong. Also he seems like a dick and is far to 'OMG I'm a NERD', you know, the average PAX attendee. Optimus Rhyme, in my limited free songs exposure, seem to not do that so much and are totally better?
I copped the new Nas album and it is just awful. There isn't a single good track on it.
Where's the love for the Cincinatti class of '97?
This is one of my all-time favorite battles. It's so funny to me how dose just kills Ruckus so bad in the second round nobody even cares what Ruckus has to say after that.
Honestly, I could just link a bunch of doseone side projects that are infinitely better at being "rap fused with other genres" than Rage are, but I should probably have at least one youtube in here that doesnt have Dose in it. So, I'll just post one by his good friend Yoni.

Actually I take it back, my favorite is Ya'll My N-words. Before I listened to it I just expected it to be, like, some party song or something but instead I got a badass meditation rap about the n-word and the hot chorus. I love that fucking chorus.
I think Hero is one of the greatest hip-hop songs I've listened to in a long, long time.
It's great that Nas finally has some good hooks. He's always had trouble with both hooks, and beats.
You got that right.
I have to disagree with you about his last CD though, I really liked it. It wasn't anywhere near Illmatic, Stillmatic, or this disc, but it had a lot of stuff I liked on it, like the detective noir rap. It was weird as hell but that's what I liked about it. Plus it had Black Republican! Epic track. I think I'll post it right now.
He's always had trouble with both hooks, and beats.
(Emphasis mine.)
Nas didn't do any of the production on Untitled.
And he did hardly any production on his older albums.
What are you talking about?
Thanks for pointing that out, genius.
I mean, he's picked some really shitty beats in the past.
Yeah, going from L.E.S. and will.i.am on Hip Hop Is Dead to DJ Green Lantern (most notably awful for producing "Bin Laden" by Immortal Technique), DJ Toomp, stic. man (of dead prez), StarGate and other equally great producers was just a great call.
The production on Untitled is awful. Nothing Nas has made since Stillmatic is worth listening to.
I'm glad that Hero is just "one of the best hip-hop songs" you've heard in a long time. Just like really awful boom bap production and even worse lyrics ("So in God's son we trust / 'cause they know I'm gonna give 'em what they want / they looking for (a hero) / I guess that makes me (a hero)"). What a good hook.
Nas is just the best. Clearly just the best lyricist in hip hop right.
If "art house stuff like busdriver" is you referring to the doseone stuff I posted, I am going to shit all over you. Busdriver is the worst emcee in existence.
Busdriver & Radioinactive with Daedelus - The Weather is objectively the worst album of any genre of all time. It is just the three of them shamelessly biting cLOUDDEAD without understanding any of what made the anticon. project great.
Also NiggyTardust! was horrendous, but his S/T and ARS were great. I really like the idea that "he's not really a rapper, per se." I guess "per se" is Latin for "if you use a retarded and overly restrictive definition of the term."

Good work on being so reductive, shit head.
Anyway, Mars, I dunno, it just did absolutely nothing for me.
I don't have any gripes with Niggy Tardust. Loved the album, and it was equally as good live too.
EDIT: Fair enough, Dub. I can certainly see where it's a shift from his previous stuff, but I guess one of the reasons I loved it was because it was basically Year Zero with rhymes.

I had a post written out about how you would have to love Year Zero and be all over Trent Reznor's dick to like NiggyTardust! at all, but I refreshed and you had edited your post.
Saul Williams was great before he became another shitty Trent Reznor side project.

It's fucking killer.
he is a hard sell after the last album

doseone vs. Ruckus Man
Are you saying that because the only other "rap fused with other genres" groups you've heard are Kid Rock and Linkin Park?
"rap fused with other genres"

"rap fused with other genres" (the song is great, but the music video is fucking awful)
The production on this CD is great.
It reminded me of how awesome MC Stephen Hawking was to me around the age of ~11
