Dude. The first 2 Fallout games were pretty much entirely comprised of raw, uncut Nicaraguan fun. I believe it is you who is bad.
So now I am stuck in a building, I got some guy on my team and I am stuck in the corner of a shack...what do I do? This game really doesn't want me to have fun.
Right-click on him, there's a command to push NPCs who bar your way. Looks like a open hand with an arrow.
Don't quote me on this, but I think that some very hostile NPCs might enter a fight if you use that on them.

Alternatively, use a shotgun to push them out of the way.

There will be child-grenade mods, there will be level scale-remove mods, there will be boobie mods, and there will most assuredly be gameplay tweaks.
Edit: (and boobie tweaks)
I predict 3 days for boobie mod, 5 days for kidsplosion mod, 2 weeks for full nude mod, 3 weeks for level scaling reduction mod, 2+ months for a bunch of interesting gameplay tweaks, and 5 minutes until the hardcore authenticity mod is announced with screenshots and website updates every few weeks for the following 4 years with snarky "when it's ready" comments and a general sense of hatred toward their mod's followers - and at some point they will collapse and the mod will never come out.
And 3 days and five minutes for the sea of [strike]whores and sex slaves[/strike] female companions stretching as far as the eye can see.
Sometimes I fucking hate RPG players. Seriously.

Am I the only one who is more excited about the towns and character interactions in Fallout 3 than the combat?
The environment certainly makes me giddy. I was in D.C. over the weekend. I recognize some of the places I've seen burned out in the screen shots. It's freaking creepy.
Am I the only one who is more excited about the towns and character interactions in Fallout 3 than the combat?
Nope, not at all. The combat holds very little interest for me. The environment, story, characters and world exploration does. It's why I'm so excited about this, and why I hope Bethesda doesn't drop the ball.
Dropping the ball for me won't be OMG THIS DOESNT FIT TEH CONTINUITIES or the combat sucking or some such. The ball will be dropped if the world is anything less than interesting to explore, if it isn't somewhat varied (within the scope of the game's post-apoc conceit), if the characters are not well-written and interesting, if the story isn't compelling, and so on.
Though I really liked Oblivion, I thought a lot of the landscape was kind of generic and samey, especially when compared to Morrowind. I'm hoping the change in environment will address that issue and give me a cool world to explore.
There's a shot or two of a town in the E3 trailer. It gets me all hot and bothered. All rusty corrugated metal sheets cobbled together with blown apart highway signs to make a wall.

Use Dynamite. That'll teach him for being in your way.
I was going to write something, but i forgot what i was going to write.
So instead i pray that I get the opportunity to make a melee character and i wonder if the VATS cineSlowdown will kick in for me putting my fist through some mutant lizard's skull....which would look awesome!
That reminds me. One of the previews mentioned that you've got the option to nuke one of the towns while working for this one asshole, right? So could that imply that they've got some simple geomod going? Because if I get a job to kill someone and I have the option to do it by syncing several sticks of dynamite to go off all at once and blow up the entire house and the two next to it then holy mother of fuck.
Now imagine doing it in VATS' slow motion, watching the initial blast shooting out of the windows and the doorways before the walls themselves buckle and fly off in all directions, the roof being blown off the structure a good 20 or 30 feet before splintering and falling all around, and some poor schmuck who's walking by right at that moment getting the meat blown off of his bones...

Well, Morrowind and Oblivion had pretty cardboard-y NPCs, so Beth's track record isn't great.

Hey, Renzo! Wait up!
Negative, nuking the town almost certainly just replaces the zone with another one. See: any game where you come back to an area later and things are different

Oblivion to me is kind of like a singleplayer MMO, which gets fairly repetetive fairly fast. Someone in this thread somewhere mentioned that the guy that did the dark brotherhood quest line is behind the stuff in Fallout 3, and that gives me alot of hope because that and the thief storylines are the only ones (other than the expansion, which I really liked) that are really good

Wishful thinking.
It's probably "You can't go there, the Radiation will kill you" message, and if you try you die, or there's an invisible wall.

I will still go there anyway and dance upon their graves. You can't stop noclip with an invisible wall.

The main character will just bellow out "I CAN'T LEAVE THE WASTES WITH OUT MY BUDDY SUPERFLY!" except there is no Superfly and it was all in his head so he can NEVER LEAVE.

I don't know where you are in the game, but there are a few "hot spots" end game for selling stuff:
the casino in Redding. has 10000-15000 coins.
the weaponsmith and utility item seller in san fran, both have 15000-20000 coins.
after purchasing 6 alien blasters, the tradesman will have quite a bit of cash
all of the other "bigger" mid game towns such as NCR and VC will tend to have around 5k on each merchant.
The gun merchants in San Francisco have boatloads of cash.
But you'll usually just be trading away guns and junk you're not using. Money is nice because it's lighter, but if you're selling stuff to merchants you might as well just steal all their money.

It'll probably just be constructed in such a way that there's not way to get out. Like a giant ruined wall that you can't get past or something. It's not hard, considering the setting.
You get a high sneak you're like a god damn ghost that can mysteriously slip live sticks of dynamite into people's pockets.

Man, all this talk about Fallout 3 is making me hanker for some Fallout PNP action. Too bad nobody on earth seems to play.
EDIT: And that dynamite thing made me wonder - is Fallout 3 still going to use that accursed accelerated timescale? Or is it going to finally go to realtime?

Also, I would not recommend tagging Sneak; you don't need it. Small Guns, Steal and Speech (or Lockpicking) is a good bet.
Sneak allows you to avoid random encounters (unless your outdoorsman sucks), IIRC will benefit stealing and usually allows yo to avoid some annoying fights. Plus it's important for sneaking onto a military base filled with numerous goodies.

Not unless I missed something and the automatic minigun turrets have become talkative (this is the Sierra military base).

The first rule of stealing is 'kill everybody first'.
There is no logic to this opinion. It does not make sense. But I will stand by said opinion for at least 24 hours.

People don't have much in the Wastes, so they get pissed when you try to take it from them.
Stand behind people when you pick their pockets. Also, saving beforehand can be useful.
