See, the other day, Fyre and I played in the Pre-PAX Halo tournament, and it was good, fun times.
Until this incredibly fictional event happened:
It was like a scene out of one of those Japanese animes, as we both knew that for one of us to win - the other had to die.
The struggle was intense, Fyre biting and both of us struggling to pull back enough to turn our Assault Rifles on each other, and we began taunting each other.
"You've never held to the TBK creed, Snack!"
"Ha! Your creed smells like your breath, space lizard!"

Can someone explain to me either how the rank system in Ranked Team Slayer works, OR, tell me how I can contact bungie about a bugged account?
Long version:
Me, Wasko and Mad Tea Party all started playing Ranked Team Slayer together about a month ago.
We all started at level 1 together. We noticed that we all got level 2 and 3 togheter, then we started spliting up.
Basically it went, Tea Party +1, Kor +1, Tea Party +1, Kor +1, Wasko +1, Tea Party +1, Kor +1, Tea Party +1, Kor +1, Wasko +1.
In other words, it seems Wasko is only getting half the skill as the rest of us.
For the life of me I can't find any dominate factors here. I'm the highest ranked of the 3, and Tea Party is the lowest. Wasko contributes to the games as much as I do, with typically as good as kills and K/D ratios.
Me and Tea Party are now sitting at 18, while Wasko sits at 8. I was 15 when he hit rank 8, and played every game with him since then. Actually, I've played every Team Slayer with him for everyone of his and mine ranks.

No-one really knows how the system works. The formula for TrueSkill is out there, but I don't think that Halo uses TrueSkill only. I'm thinking there's a couple of possibilities here:
- It takes into account your performance in the game. If you have a lower hit percentage, for example, your skill will not increase as much.
- It takes the skill level of the people you kill as a factor. If you are killing higher-ranked people than your friend consistently, this would make your rank rise more quickly.

The hit percentage I can't 100% vouche for, but the kill factors?
I mean, its not uncommon to see
Wasko - 20
Kor - 18
Tea Party - 12
Also, opponent skill levels...
We played a game like this yesterday

Alf - 9
And despite Wasko being MvP with most kills and the best K/D spread... me and Tea Party both leveled to 18, while he stayed at 8.
edit: And whats wierd is I'm the 3 star, Wasko is a 1-star, and Tea Party is just an Lt.
All the system cares about is if you win or lose a game (not your performance in the game) and the ranks of the people you lose to or beat.

Then the account has to be bugged, because I'm telling you, we've played sessions where me and Tea Party will go up 6 or 7 ranks, and wasko maybe goes up 3.
And me and Tea Party will go up from people ranked lower than us, while Wasko sits on his rank that was lower than our opponents.
It turns out I have to work again tonight and tomorrow night, so unless people are up for some game time like right now, I won't be on again until Tuesday night.

Early work is early, but luckily does not last long, nor do I work at all on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Plus, a 12 hour long family reunion is too much extended family any sane man/woman can handle.
