Resources for learning grammar and sentence structure?

I'm going to be starting an English course soon (mostly formal essays, literary analysis), and my writing has grown rusty. I have severe difficulty organizing my thoughts into sentences, and even forming individual sentences. I simply can't decide what information to put where, and how to order it. I also find myself making obvious grammatical mistakes repeatedly. So I figure that by working on my grammar, I can hopefully make forming sentences and writing essays much easier.

Does anyone have any resources (books, internets, etc. - free or paid) for this sort of thing? Anything on general grammar, sentence structure, writing, organization, etc. Anything that seems like it would be applicable to my situation.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.
