I was wondering, is it possible to find a freeware application that can be used to begin a download at a set time automatically. My searches on google seem to have turned up nil.

    What type of download? You could set up an RSS feed with that download in it and then set your RSS catcher to only check at that time, maybe.

    Get WGET for Windows if you're using windows, drop a batch file with the download you want, and schedule a windows task for a one-time specific time.

    (this will really only work if you have a download that gives you a direct link)
