Virtua Fighter 5 is a cool game. Play with me.
Okay, now let's talk about something new and pretty.

See that? That's Virtua Fighter 5 R. What is VF5R, you ask? Well, it's a new Virtua Fighter game! Starring
Jean Kujo
And the return of Taka-Arashi
Okay, now for some actual substance.
VF5R is a big update for VF5, coming after VF5 Ver.D The most obvious new feature is the inclusion of 2 new characters. The first is Jean Kujo, a J6 operative and childhood friend of Lion (what a knucklehead), and master of straight up karate. The second is Taka-Arashi, who is actually an older VF character who just didn't make an appearance in 4 and 5 (the developers had planned to include him but felt his hitboxes were too off, so they just took him out completely). He is big and fat, so he obviously is a sumo wrestler.
Aside from them, there are the obvious balance fixes, new items and costumes with which to customise your character with, and everyone gets new moves and animations. Yay! It is a very pretty game. The stages also get an overhaul, featuring more vareity. Not just new stages, but new shapes and sizes. Some stages are octagons, some are long rectangles, some have breakable walls, and some even change shape and size between rounds. Also, new music! It's all pretty sweet stuff.
Another new feature is a new technique, the side-block. Now when someone gets around you and tries to attack you from your left or right, you are able to block them! Amazing! I don't know the specifics on it's rules or how it works, though. Also, apparently, you can't attack during Offensive Movements anymore. Aw man.
Now, some videos. I'm not sure how to just put links, so I guess prepare for lots of embedding!

They could do that, but why when you can instead collect another, what, thirty dollars from everyone who bought the first version and neeeeeds the extra characters? I don't think they'll try and sell it for the full sixty, that would be a little too obvious.
Come to think of it, VF4Evo came out in lieu of the normal Greatest Hits edition, at the $20 point. Fingers crossed.
That was also for the PS2. So if they do the same with VF5:R then it'll probably be $40 at least.

Haven't the Platinum Hits been starting at $30? Or have I not been seeing it right?
The MS budget price is 40$.
Huh. All the Platinum Hits games on Microsoft's site are listed as $29.99. example (except platinum family hits, which are $19.99).
I'd say there's a chance.
The Hori stick (for SC4, DOA4, and VF5) is some good I hear.
I loathe fighting sticks. I always get weird looks when I say that, but I never bothered to play fighters in the arcade very often and I cut my teeth on VF1, VF2, Fighters Megamix, and VF4 with a Saturn pad. I need a decent D-pad to play.
Cool, I'm not alone.
I'm pretty decent at Tekken, but man did I suck horribly when I would try to play it at our arcades in college. I just can't get used to that control method.
And if they release this as a cheap expansion pack, I'll be getting it for sure.
i load it up every couple of months for the 360 and play it non-stop, then get pissed off when i pick it back up again a month or so later and oh no i am so rusty
I will play whenever, maybe even in 15 minutes, but not for long as I have to go out for the 4th.
