Wow, I read the first issue of this and thought they were trying too hard with the humor, but it looks like I need to give it another look. Those scans are amazing.
Thanks to the constant praise and scans in this thread, I've decided to make it my life's goal to procure Nextwave. Question, though: is the hardcover significantly better than the paperback in anyway, or can I save my money?

Save your money, there isn't anything special about the hardcover that is out now.

i bought the hardcover purely because my comicshop made a very large error when calculating the Canadian to American exchange.
which is really odd because they have Canadian and American prices printed on the damn flap. I think they basically just put the wrong tag on there. In any case it was my gain because I bought it for a softcover price.
Well, it was a letdown. Art wasn't sharp, laughs were few and far between (and certainly not as hard as previously), the 'plot twists' packed punch... it felt like the whole creative team had just been deflated somehow. It was still a wonderful series, but a somewhat anticlimactic one.

Man, I thought it was a lot better than the last issue.
Maybe because it actually had dialogue instead of 12 pages of two-page battle scenes (which are good for a quick snicker, but that's about it).

Surely, you jest.
It was an awesome finale to an incredibly awesome series. The plot twists made me laugh out loud every time, and the art was perfect for the mood they were aiming for.

This never gets old:
Nextwave is so good that I am honestly buying every single member of my family, as well as a good number of friends*, a copy of the tpb.
*Everyone I'm buying a gift for, basically. Including my Granma.

hahaha holy shit I just noticed in issue 2, Dirk Anger's nurse pours baby chickens into a blender which is fed into him via IV. So awesome.
But isn't Absolute a DC thing, Whippy?
An omnibus would be sweet, although it would piss off those who got the first hardcover.

It was delicious.
Totally awesome.
WHERE DO YOU SHOP
dude.. he is from toronto. the whole point is his shop is giving him a discount by selling him at the American cover price.
Sorry I'm late.
I shop at Silver Snail, Downtown Toronto.
I listened to it last night... it's really not all that awesome.
I mean, the lyrics are good, but the execution is lacking.
I found a Crayon Butchery version of #5 today, though. Score!

This is the best thing of all time. Why have I not been reading it all along?
Also. Are there really theme songs to this? That would be amazing.
Dinner is meat.
RAW MEAT.
Just one. The Official Marvel link doesn't seem to be working now, so I just hosted it for you.
There's a sort of a hole inside me now (it makes me strangely attracted to myself) and I don't know if there's a comic out there that can fill it.

Very satisfying, in my opinion.
