I'm looking for a little advice on getting the full series for my brother's birthday.
There seems to be myriad sites out there in order to buy but I'm hoping to wade through all that in the hopes that one of you has made a similar purchase and had insight in the matter. I also don't want to get jipped.
One thing is that this needs to be in my hands before July 20th. I'm hoping to avoid spending over 300$ for the set as well.
this: Amazon page is where you want to go. Amazon.com ships DVD's to canada. it's $325, but you get free shipping. I ordered this set when it first came out. pretty much exactly what you want.
what's the difference between that one and this one?
Thats the old, out of print version. Also notice it's not actually available from amazon, just third party sellers, and the 229 listed price is for used, the cheapest price for that specific set new is 499$. The one that's actually still in print comes in a better box, for over 100$ less, its the one you want.
I just want to add that if it seems to good to be true, it almost certainly is. A friend of mine bought the series on E-Bay. Instead of spending the $300+, he was able to get it for something like $85...
...Yeah, the DVDs, although professional looking with labels and a box etc, are pirated/burned.
Plus, one of the non-episode ones (special features or something), doesn't work.
