I've got a smashed-up screen in an iBook G4 2005 model with a 1.33 ghz processor.
It's a nice little computer, and I want to find a replacement LCD for it that won't cost me an arm and a leg.
I hear Samsung 12" displays work in most iBooks, specifically the Samsung LTN121X1-L02 but I am skeptical.
The connectors in the iBooks are supposedly different between the models, and this leads me to wonder how it works, why it works, and if it'll work or if everyone in the world is lying to me and I should walk around in a tinfoil hat.
Anyone know more than me on this subject?
They cast a shadow like a sundial in the morning light. It was half past 10.
Why not just hunt down a used iBook LCD? They go for $60 to $90 depending on condition, and at least that way you know you're getting something that'll work. eBay, Google Product Search, and even Amazon should be able to steer you in the right direction.
If you have a used parts store in your area, you could try even bringing it over there and physically plugging in an old iBook LCD (if they have one). That way you'll know with 100% certainty that it'll work before you buy it. But that would depend on you having such a store in your area, and them having said LCD. Otherwise, the online purchase would probably be the next best thing.
