I've started using rainmeter for HUD.vision, it's pretty neat-o.
This isn't my desktop, but I'm using some of these widgets.

Unless I'm missing something, that isn't a Mac. It's Windows. I only know because I looked up 'Rainmeter' (as mentioned in Bent's post) and found out that there isn't a Linux version, just windows. Which made me sad.
I'm grabbing all those and pretending I have a Mac
well, first uninstal your games
and most anything else
and then use apple's version of everything
and you're done
Also make sure things bounce and glow soothingly and are incredibly simple
aaaaand done
that'll be 2 grand, please

I sort of miss mac OS9
If only they had refined that instead of OSX which is sort of what I feel like an interactive demo given to mental patients to calm them down might be like
