I've never really had a problem with Foobar, except it doesn't work with my media keys (on my laptop itself or on the keyboard I'm using), but that's kind of a deal-breaker since I have to switch to the window to swap songs. I can't just set universal keys, because the media keys for play/skip track/etc aren't configurable via the program for my logitech wireless keyboard.
I know for a fact that Windows Media Player works with the media keys, so I'm tempted to try and use that.
Any reasons not to? Are there any other media players that I should try out? WinAMP, maybe? I haven't used that since I was like, twelve, but I think it's still around.
If you are still out for a Foobar alternative I highly recommend Winamp. It will probably work with your media keys out of the box and if it doesn't you can probably make it.

Making it work with my dell was super-easy. Now for the logitech wireless.
