I am sitting here at work, bored out of my mind, so I am worrying over whatever is going on with my body. I've had this painful jaw for a while now, it locks up quite easily and it can rather painful if I don't move it every now and then. It can also make a sort of cracking noise if I bite hard on something.( :winky: )
A few weeks ago the dentist had to do a filling at an annoying spot, so she put part of my mouth under narcosis. After that thepain in my jaw got worse and it started to affect my ear. Now my ear can get painful too and it kind of feels like when you're on a plane from time to time.
What is wrong with my jaw, can I fix this myself or should I talk to my GP?
PS: sorry about lousy spelling, got no dictionary at work.
You need to see a surgeon, and the sooner the better, Oral and Maxilo-Facial Surgeon is the specialist that should evaluate you.
Do not delay.

I second the TMJ. It's pretty common after a dental visit where they are keeping your mouth open wide for over an hour. I've had it before. It's annoying, and it seemed like it took a long time to go away (a few weeks at least) but it did go away.
You can't rule out the possibility that the dentist damaged a nerve, however, so do get to a doctor as soon as you can.

I already had some of the symptoms of TMJ before the operation, if that wasn't the case I would have waited it out.
