I finally got around to unlocking a new weapon. I got the medic health gun. Hopefully I can unlock everything, but the achievements left are going to be a hell of a lot harder. Maybe I'll stop after unlocking the crit gun (critzereg? or something like that) and work on pyro stuff. At least the pyro achievements make more sense.
You have to activate an uber and point it in the general direction of two teammates and click repeatedly over and over until the ubercharge runs out. They are both effectively ubered. I asked the same question last night.
Also, backburner is overpowered. But maybe that is just because I never notice the slower front damage, just the incredible and quick death I receive from behind. Seriously, does anyone not use the backburner? Regular flamethrower does not stand a chance.
While ubering someone, switch targets like you would while normally healing. Even after you switch, the uber lasts a split second longer on the first target. You can alternate back and forth to keep both people invincible.

I never use the backburner. I don't consider the back-crits to be much of an advantage, because whenever I'm in that situation, I just use the axetinguisher (Unless I'm facing a pryo (especially one with a backburner, lololol), then I'm fucked). Then when it comes to 50hp vs airblast, I prefer the airblast, I've blown back too many ubers, and pushed people off of ledges, and even occasionally gotten deflected hits to trade it out for just 50 hit points.
Although admittedly, I have a much harder time against back burning pyros. I've currently given up on the flare + leafblower, and am now trying leafblower shotgun, so that when I face backburners, I can blow them, then shotty them as I retreat.
Fighting leafblower pyros is awesome since you just wait until they use up all their goddamn ammo blowing you around, then you kill them. It's annoying with ubers, but other than those 10 seconds I don't consider them a threat no matter what I'm playing.
Some older custom maps seem particularly unfair with backburner pyros...

An awful lot of them alternate between those cramped corners and vast open sniper-havens. Its like some creators have no idea what "line of sight" even means.

Unless it's people like me who believe that fighting pyros up close with guns is for babies.

A good level designer keeps these words in mind:
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
I just don't understand people who think to themselves
well i have this option to use a whole new ability that makes the class more versatile, but no i'd rather just play the same way I have been playing but with more hit points.
When dealing with a belligerent gentleman, an umbrella may well prove to be a very versatile tool in the many and varied ways it could be employed... But a hammer to the back of the skull is undeniably effective.
If demomen got crit-pipebombs from behind and +50 health (now there's an undeniably unbalanced addition), I'd probably grab that option with both hands unless the alternative was earth-shatteringly awesome.
It's like I barely play some classes (who have totally different skill-sets to my staple choices) anyway, using a particular weapon setup near-exclusively is no different.

Does anybody with the backburner use the axetinguisher other than for shit and giggles? I love using it to take out unsuspecting soldiers, heavies, and demos.

I only axe people if I had the flare gun out before; otherwise, I take Zek's advice and just burn the bitch (and/or die in the process).

The leafblower needs some really funky timing when playing with ping of 100+. And ever since damage falloff has been greatly reduced pyro vs. pyro is mainly decided by who had the most health at the start of the fight, so the guy with the backburner almost always wins that fight.
Hmm, has anybody done any crazy testing to see if it's worth spurting the leafblower at someone and then axing them, vs just flaming them the entire time? Somebody must have done this somewhere.
I thoroughly enjoyed my old fashioned style of pyro playing and the backburner rewards it in spades. Being able to control when I crit is the biggest bonus. The extra 50 hp is just the icing on the cake that lets me take more damage and get out of situations I really shouldn't have. Going against a good leafblower normally ends up in a shotgun duel when he blows me away if I get too close and we both run our separate ways.
Of course, playing a strictly defensive pyro is a blast with the leafblower. Grab a nice corner with an engy, sentry, and dispenser, and have fun. Otherwise effective leafblowing just leaves me in too many situations where I don't have enough ammo to spam and intimidate other classes.
However, leafblower + axetinguisher is always fun times.
It sticks to the original storyline of the heavy and how he escaped the gulags and sought a better life in the grim setting of Hell's Kitchen 1950, where, pretending to be a Soviet Jew, he became fascinated with large guns after shooting someone with a quadbarreled pistol-shotgun
Marty you are credit to team, how did you get to be so excellently crazy?
I got this from that terrible Nicolas Cage film, Lord of War. It is trbl beyond belief

If you mean the flamethrower, it's worth it against Heavies. Just don't miss or you'll look like a retard and probably die too. Technically I think it's faster against Soldiers but it's dangerous since they can rocket you away first - it's better to flame them and time an airblast to reflect their rocket point blank. Against anyone else, don't do it ever. Even if you come across somebody already on fire, they're probably hurt and it's safer to just flame them down.

(Regarding the switched animations video)
was it just a bad time of the day or is there a server that is more popular nowadays?
Har har, pyro discussion with me always leads to double entendres.
The servers will fill up in an hour or two, maybe not both servers, but at least one for sure.

Any other considerations are secondary at best.

I cannot let this pass:
Though I'm sure that's what you referenced. I've been re-watching season 1 for the 3rd time, and it is just better than ever.
I love you too
