The additional backstab point is easier to justify than the additional headshot point, yes. Still, in their usual role snipers often don't get to benefit from captures etc., so it helps address that and I don't really give a flying fornication either way... :P
Hey, are there screenshots of this map anywhere? Sometimes my work connection doesn't load any images from FPS Banana's site and I'd really like to see how they adjusted this map for TF2.
It was one of my favorites to snipe on back in TFC. :P
Yeah, I think the server that's hosting the screenshots there is down.
Vile's got some hosted on his personal website, though.
The sniper thing's a bit over the top, just because you don't have the massive chance at death you do as a spy after you land a backstab. In my opinion anyways.
Not as massive as the stab. But once someone goes down your perch is exposed and, if you happen to have shot someone in a crowd, the crowd turns on you.
I think it is just the opposite actually. If you're far enough away, they can't do much about you sniping, but the spy is right there, and is an immediate threat, one which they can take down instantly. They're going to take out that spy before going for the sniper I'm sure.
Also, the spy has to successfully navigate his way past the enemy team while in cloak without bumping anyone or getting hit (which can be very difficult in close quarters) as well as avoid enemy line of sight as they decloak, and then try to avoid enemy line of sight and suspicion until they get into backstab range.
As opposed to snipers, who just point and click! (lawl)

The map looks pretty well laid out, but a part of me wishes it were still placed in a night-time setting like the original. (or at least I think it was night...)

Yeah, it was at night. So many good memories on that map.
Is it possible to change the sky skin/lighting when making a custom map?
I think I remember playing some sort of urban city map with lots of sky scrappers where it was dark outside, but I never took the time to notice what the actual sky looked like. I just remember the street lights created an awesome effect for the atmosphere!

There's 8 CP points in the map, as you get them, your domination % goes up depending on how many of the CPs you have. When your domination % gets to 100 or you capture all 8 points you win.
Or when the time goes out and your % is higher.
The 8 CPs makes it look like it's ideal for a 32 player server...Otherwise there might just be lots of scouts running around...
Apparently TF2 isn't set up for multiple flags that need to be brought somewhere.
There's a wiki page I read that addressed this. It said something like: If you pick up 2 flags, the first flag you pick up can't be captured anymore or dropped or whatever, so it's effectively taken out of the playing field.
So unless you did it with just 1 flag, it wouldn't work, because there's a high chance people will grab more than one flag.
Er. Bag.
Also, I made a pyro-airblast map! Just throwing on some finishing touches, and I should have it up later today. In the mean time, I have to grab lunch...

You don't need to eat you need to finish that map.

I don't understand. Are you talking about people picking up more than one flag themselves, or multiple flags being picked up (by multiple people) at once?

It forces pyro'ing. :winky:
What I'd like to see now is a version of Hydro that's all inter-connected with the domination game mode. Awesomeness!
pyro shaped holes in the wall?
What kind of...
Pyro airblast map?
Some sort of trigger/detection that detects what class you are and kills you if you're not a pyro.
I don't know the specifics.
Instead I got it after I died. oh well.
omfg
I love 2fort2furious.
For the medic, they gave them a lovely tool to give them a free 25-50% on their ubercharge if my backstab doesn't register and they notice me.
For the pyro, they can literally kill me in the blink of an eye if they are even just dicking around with their flamethrower.
And now they're helping out the heavy, by far the best and easiest target.
So, so far, valve has helped out the pyro: the nemesis, the medic: the primary target, and the heavy: the easy target.
Can you see how much this is annoying me?

Flagrun only let you carry one flag at a time.
My method of forcing people to be pyro ONLY WORKS FOR THE PERSON WHO MADE THE SERVER =O!!!
That's kind of retarded. Now I have to find some other way to do it. Delaying the map ;.;
"Flagrun only let you carry one flag at a time."
Yeah, in TFC you could only carry 1 flag at a time.
In TF2, it's set up so you can carry as many intel suitcases as you want, which makes the first one you grabbed get removed from the map, basically.
It's a TF2 problem, apparently there's no way to fix it just using Hammer.
I now have no idea what I'm going to do. Blargh.
Make a spawn hall of fire. At the end are supply cabinets. I don't know how possible any of this is. It was just the first idea to come to mind.
Edit: Nevermind, Medics would circumvent this. Unless you could make their heal gun not heal at all.
