So yes, if you hadn't heard UT3 is out now for 360 (and has been for some time on PS3).
Since now the game is being released to a larger, more FPS friendly console crowd, I expect to see the game doing pretty well (Especially with the Gears stuff they threw in there, even if it's really only an extended trailer).
Got it myself last night, and lovin' it. It doesn't appear to have mods, which was the big thing Epic was fighting MS about. There *is* a downloadable content section, but there is nothing listed. I love it since I missed the more fast paced kinetic feel after months of Halo and COD4. It all feels great, even if a bit floaty at times. And oh yeah, it looks awesome. Hoverboards are the shit.
If you have the game or are planning on getting it, I all your name to the

Also, since there doesn't seem to be a thread for the other versions, you can discuss them here aswell. Heck, I can even add other name lists if needed. So yes! The game! Let us discuss.

In other news, I hear there is actually something to do in this if you're not wanting to play it online, which might sway me when it's cheaper. As it is though, I rarely go for something that is purely online, because my internet is unstable at best.
They really could have just stuck with "You want lots of money. This tournament is pretty cool, you shoot people and get paid lots. Go forth and shoot." and had the same quality of campaign, but less cringeworthy shit (like them trying to explain a reason for why there are flags in CTF).
I've actually seen ads for this game.
And every time, I go, "Huh? Are they advertising Gears 2 already? Oh, it's just Unreal 3."
They need to not make their games so similar in order to distinguish them. I felt like I would have been picking up Gears of War without having ever played an Unreal game after seeing the commercial.
I want to like UT3, but it still doesn't feel like classic UT. It's too fast, and I miss the semi-realistic style of UT, where everybody was pretty realistically proportioned and the guns looked like guns instead of "let's see how many polys and normal maps we can cram in here." (Though the Rocket Launcher and Flak Cannon are alright.)
And all of the maps are black/gray. For instance, Torlan between UT2k4 and UT3: Old | New
And the deathmatch maps: pipes.
So many pipes.
UT3 seriously needs some nice custom maps and mods. I've been working on remakes of the classic Enforcer and Sniper Rifle myself.
it was just cool =(
CTF feels slick as hell though, very close to UT99, except the translocator runs out of charge about 1 or 2 hops from your destination sometimes if you go too fast, the sniper's just that little bit slower, pulse primary's just that little bit deadlier, and UT rockets are still missing in favor of Quake rockets.
I prefer the 360 version over the PS3 version, always seems like there's more people on and actually playing, rather than tinkering around with their server settings trying to set up some goofy game that no one has any fun in.
The biggest challenge I see facing the 360 version is DLC. Microsoft seems very adverse to user-generated content, but perhaps if it's filtered through Epic games we'll see some excellent maps and mods (such as those from the Make Something Unreal Contest) on this platform.
Aces Wild is a pretty stellar game.

I'd like to know this too, because if so then I might pick it up (even though I own it for PC).
Yes, you can have guest's for both co-op single player and two player online multiplayer.
They thought the new warfare gametype would take the place of assault.
it's basically onslaught with a couple bells and whistles tacked on, there's no way at all to set up the attack/defend style you'd expect from assault. it's better than onslaught was in 2k4 (which was still a lot of fun), but nowhere near as fun as assault. there's no way you could recreate something as awesome as like, the droid AI assault map (damn i can't remember the name...)
It does miss out on ALOT of needed console fixes though. If you're playing with friends on the pc, you just pass them the IP of the server via the IRC chat. But on the xbox youll have to invite everyone, get the teams switched etc. It can be a real hassle.
Console multiplayer games simply MUST have lobby systems like halo and cod4. I really don't understand that they overlooked that:x.
Besides that I love it! Hardcore shooting FTW
The problem was that UT3 just felt like UT2004 with an updated paint coat and a with a switch of art style to "Gears of Unreal".
If you've played 2004, I can't see UT3 being much of a step up for you on any platform. But if you haven't, hey it's definitely a good game in it's own right. I just felt they could have done more with it.
I distinctly remember that the original Unreal tournament had a whole map made of pipes.
Decay or something, can't remember the name.
Tis' nothing new.
From what I hear there's plenty of people playing the game on the 360 at the moment. Much better than the numbers on the PC. And like stated before, split screen provides some good ol' multiplayer too

The 360 will probably have lots of content in big chunks. So, not exactly as robuts as the mods, but at least there will be something extra to extend it's life.
