Trouble loading game

I sent an e-mail to the support address, but i thought i'd check here too
Any time i try to load the game, i get the first window with "play" "options" and "exit"
i click on play, and the game starts to load up, even showing the game's cursor
Then it stops and i get a little box saying "rainslickexe has encountered an error and needs to close" and it offers me the option to send an error report or not.
I'm running on windows xp, i've got ATI radeon xpress 200m, which i'm suspecting could be the problem, but i know nothing about video cards or anything
Any help would be much appreciated
