Finding silver quarters

I'm working at a summer camp for the next month or so and a fellow counselor showed me a ring he made from a silver quarter.
I've decided I'd love to under take the project (for those of you wondering how it's all over any google search), however I can't find a silver quarter. Google does nothing, are there any tricks to finding one or am I just going to have to start asking old people?

    That is awesome.

I'm willing to bet eBay will have a ton of these things up. Also, it looks like from the site I read you will need a half-dollar rather than a quarter, unless you are a woman or making this for one.

I think these are pretty common though.. I have a ton of old coins in a safety deposit box somewhere.

there were a few certain years in the 60s they were made, if i remember correctly. maybe that was when they stopped making them? Anyway, I've always been able to pick them out by the sound they make against other coins, its very distinctly different, though I couldn't tell you how (especially if you've got other quarters to compare).

    hows that for helpful. ;)

    ..! yahoo answers:

Q: What year was the last silver quarter minted?

A: 1964 unless you count some of the special mint issues

Well I know the years they were produced up till, it just seems hard finding them that old.
Especially being out at this camp six hours from home haha. I'm sure I could mill around me or my neighbors house but I was hoping for more general answers I guess.
Though it seems that probably isn't a possibility. Thanks though gents.

There are a few on ebay but it's a bit pricey, though I might eventually break.

I've done this before, a couple of times. There are shops that cater to coin collectors. If you live in any sort of a large city there is probably at least one in your area. Last I checked, you could easily buy one in poor (collectable) condition for about a buck.

In the past 12 years I've gotten exactly 1 silver quarter in change (which I lost). A few weeks ago I a got a silver dime ('51) in change. Ebay or collectibles vendor, because you're in for a long wait.

Yeah, good luck. Collectors love them, and most are out of circulation, meaning you'll pay more than 25¢ for one. I've got 2 but I'm not going to part with them ;D

Hit eBay or a local coin collector shop.
