I downloaded the new version (7.7) of iTunes. This took many attempts, as Internet Explorer kept trying to close when the install window opened up. I got through that, and then I plugged in my iPod Touch, which was in version 1.2.1 with the software update.
It said that it couldn't update my iPod because it needed to update the Apple Mobile Device Support drivers and to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. I did that a couple of times, and it never worked. So I went through Add/Remove, and uninstalled the Apple Mobile Device Support drivers there first before I uninstalled iTunes. I reinstalled iTunes, and now I don't have any AMDS drivers at all, despite Apple's site saying it would come with the install.
So in the middle of this, I plugged it into my sister's laptop and it was recognized and all, I installed the new iPod software, and had to restore my iPod. Now I have no music on my iPod, which is no good, but I can install Apps, which is good.
Now, when I plug in my iPod, I get a message saying that the iPod can't be used because the required software is not installed.
So, how do I get the latest AMDS drivers? Is there a way I can install them seperately?
