HD Television!

This past Christmas we bought our first HDTV and let me tell you, combined with our premium cable package, never have the founding fathers looked so haggard

0000047343_20080314180004.jpg

never has Earth seemed to planety

PLANETEARTH257_m.jpg

And I didn't know that there were HD-only channels out there.

Any of you guys watch anything on Mojo? A lot of it seems like Spike TV in HD, but I've actually gotten pretty into Three Sheets. Basically, dude goes around the world and gets hammered, except he's not a horrible dick like Dave Attell.

I have no fabulous riches. I am a grad student, and therefore desperately poor. Keeping myself on the internet sucks up the vast majority of my luxury budget.

Monkeybomb, you should check out Generation Kill, the new miniseries from David Simon (THe Wire, The Corner). It looks spectacular in HD.

Also, every sport looks awesome in HD. Even women's softball or men's swimming.

I know plenty of grad students that spent their student loans on HD setups. One of them was a professor of mine.

Porn is hilarious in HDTV. Ever pimple on her ass while being reamed is visible and every blemish on her cum soaked face is visible. Even more insecurity to add to the pile which leads to Double Anal to mouth.

its disappointing too because the latest swim gear is like this onesie for men that covers the chest and doesn't highlight the package as much as a teeny speedo. one would think less clothing = faster

No, aerodynamics = faster. Stretchy pants proved to be more effective than shaving legs last Olympics and this time around they get to save their chest hair too.

Yeah he actually tried out for the Olympics at 42 I think. He matched and even exceeded a few of his times he set in Munich, but it wasn't enough to qualify.
At the time tho he was something else.

It's a mini-series about John Adams called "John Adams" and starring Paul Giamatti as John Adams.

There's this show on BBC HD called Spy in the Jungle, where they give some elephants cameras to carry, and then they put them in places no human that wants to live would go, like right outside a tiger den, or they follow the tigers about for hours. The Tigers just totally ignore the elephants so the footage is amazing.

Seven-part miniseries, starting in 1770 Boston.

First two episodes are awesome, gets a little slower later on, but it's all very interesting.

Yeah, the Sony A3000 SXRD. But on "normal" mode you don't even notice it, and you can turn it off if you want. It really helps a lot on 24fps material (films), but admittedly on the "high" setting it gives everything this creepy hyper-real look... like it's computer generated or something.

Also gotta turn it off for video games since it introduces some lag.

Otherwise I love the TV, best looking TV ever made pretty much, shame they discontinued them.

Gotta say "Three Sheets" is the fucking bomb. I love that show. Although "Mojo" used to be better when it was "InHD" and there was 2 channels, with the INHD2 showing movies almost 24/7 (uncut, uncensored movies).

Universal HD (UHD) is decent, they show uncensored movies, though it was better before they added commercials.. they used to show full-length feature movies uncut...
