If on a checklist of things I need to bring on my trip, two of the things it says are:

    Daypack

    and

    Traveling Backpack

What's what, and what's different, and what one do I actually have already?

A traveling backpack is your home away from home. In it you put your tent, sleeping bag, clothes, food etc.

Daypack is the smaller backpack you will be using if say, your staying a couple nights somewhere and don't want to drag your heavy traveling backpack but still need water/maps/whatever to keep you going for the day till you return to where ever you left your traveling backpack.

Personally when I traveled I was a friggin turtle, my traveling backpack almost never left by sight/back. I knew going in that I would not be ditching my traveling backpack anywhere so I didn't bother with a daypack.

Ah, this is what they mean. I always used the term "hiking pack".

I guess that makes me a liar.

No, because you were guessing. If you said "I can see your hand and I know for a fact that you're holding up four fingers", you would be lying, and frankly, that would be pretty silly.

Okay, so if I say "You're lying about your past, Church," then what does that make me?

That makes you a liar. Unless you're trying to say you simply don't believe me, in which case it just makes you a dolt.

Unless you are a liar... which we have proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. Liar.

Okay, just making sure that's still your argument.

    Here, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie

"Lying" implies intent to deceive, which is clearly not the case here.

I think the word you're looking for is "wrong".

I wouldn't think that MMOs are inherently more addicting than another other game. They just have lots and lots and lots of replaybility and are designed so you can sink tons of hours into them.

I guess there's the extra community aspect for some people, but that can happen with any genre of multiplayer game.

There's a decent chance that, proportionally to the amount of time each game has spent at market, I've sunk more time into TF2 than WoW. It's probably a good thing that there was no way to track my time spent playing Counterstrike back in the day.

Three or so weeks ago now? My friends really wanted me to arena with them. I did some thinking about it, and decided that there's no real difference between doing arenas and say, playing matches of TF2, so I might aswell play what my friends are.

Arenas are horrible and if you are only playing for arenas then you will regret your decision very quickly. The entire 1400-1700 brackets are filled with Season 3/4 rerollers who totally outgrear most pvp nubs and just want to shove their epeens down peoples throats with how easily they beat them. Arenas have ruined whatever fun was in pvp.
