Hate: Uncut gems on Thorium Brotherhood are often worth more than cut gems. Puts me in a pretty awkward position as a jewelcrafter.
Yeah, that happens sometimes. It used to happen on my realm, but things have changed (excluding useless cuts).

Star of Elunes for 30g
Cut it into a Solid Star of Elunes be lucky to get 20g

They sell for 80g on my server, uncut they got for 20g.

Every time someone asks to come to an instance and has to bail 10 minutes into it because mommy is calling them to dinner, God kills a kitten and takes back an angel's wings.
Simple solution: if it's not fun, don't play. Problem solved.
This isn't a valid argument.
Arenas are fun. To make them fun, however, you need gear. To get the gear, you need to do battlegrounds.
Either I follow the offense around killing people, or I sit in Iceblood Tower reading a book and defending anytime someone comes by.
Not only is the latter easier and less annoying, it is also more effective at actually contributing.

That latter option, that's not what I at the very least mean by afking, because you're still there at the computer ready to react in case something happens.
What I concider afking is when you, well, go away from the keyboard. Like, you leave your WoW on, maybe with a little bot running, and you go do something else. You're not contributing to the offense, you're not contributing to the defense, you're just leeching and taking up space from someone who might contribute. And these people are worthless scum.
Speaking of AV, went in with my Rogue at 53, and found we were 40 people to their...17.
I'm guessing all the Alliance have decided to get to 70 where they win more often than not? Still, completing the quest and getting my crossbow was easy. Unlike on my paladin, who is alliance
So thats a happy.
The Hate: I'm an obsessive compulsive when it comes to completing quests. So even if i start a quest that's been coded in the depths of hell, i'll still finish it, no matter if i'm a screaming lunatic by the end.
Say hello to the worst quest ever. 24 'Acceptable' samples to get. And the droprate. Fucking. Stank. I must have killed 4 times that many mobs, and considering i had 2 hours, it felt like i'd never get it done in time. I'd go for a dozen mobs at a time before getting an 'Acceptable' sample, only to have a dozen more 'Unacceptable' samples after that.
TL: DR; my bad luck with choosing quests continues.

I think Katryn is on the other side of that battlegroup. All 51-60 AVs I've ever tried, at any time of day, start with 40-15 or so Horde advantage. I've given up on getting Ice Barbed Spear and am leveling up to BoE Outland green weapons instead.

When I leveled my Gnome Mage I was stunned at how little effort the Alliance was putting into Level 51+ AV. The bg would start with Alliance outnumbered 3-1 and defending the DB bridge from the get-go in the hope of harvesting a few honor kills while getting rolled.
The only good news was the Horde eventually became complacent and starting entering drooling idiots, finally giving us a win late in the evening. I grabbed my Frost Wand gratefully and sprinted back to the Plaguelands to resume questing.
Luckily my rising Warrior is Horde, so I'm looking forward to a nice shiny IBS shortly. Heck, if the Alliance is still putting it in the tank I may even stick around and try to grind up a couple of armor pieces.

Speaking of Horde Warriors, holy cats did they amp up the quest rewards for the Muizeck questline in Feralas. The Will of the Mountain Giant axe makes the Whirlwind Axe look like a toy.

This is, like, the opposite of hope. Despair, I reckon.
A random low level person whispers to me "give me 5g plz". I think that ordering people around like that is rude, so I try to be a smartass and reply with "I will give you 10 gold for every vowel in that "plz"." He says "ok" and goes silent.
Alright, mission complete, I was a smartass. Or that's what I thought.
A few minutes later he's standing next to me and whispers "hmmmm?" as if he's expecting something. I ask him did he count the vowels. He says "ok" and goes quiet for a moment. Then he whispers "i will have 5g.......?"
I ask him: "Do you even know what a vowel is?"
He says: "no"

Happy - Twins down!
Hate - M'uru looks like a total bitch. Guild just got back to full strength, hopefully M'uru won't send us back to the recruiting pool.
Happy: Finally did Karazhan for the first time today. It is amazing.
Also, still loving the SSO dailies. Hmmm, money.
Hate: My main, the warrior. He is currently stuck in blues and is Arms with a "welfare" epic 2H sword with Mongoose on it. I don't do bad damage, doing 450 in Kara tonight. Especially with my gear. The problem is, to get my warrior to even be viable, I need DPS plate. And that stuff is hard to find. Plus, after going from Fury to Arms, even though I like the big crits it actually seems like I'm doing less damage and everything is much slower. I kinda wanna change my mind and grab two one-handers but that would be a waste of a Mongoose enchant. I may just grab two new one-handers from Kara runs and throw my 2Her in the bank until Titan's Grip is made available. Try to grab Despair too and toss it in there. (Edit: New plan is to ride it out on Arms until I get Despair and Titan's Grip then go back to Fury.)
Hate: The character I do want to play, my Shadow Priest, is on a different server and account. And has no time on it right now.
You don't need plate to DPS. You are, after all, supposed to be hitting things while not getting hit yourself. Obviously you need to be careful when rolling against certain other classes but there's not point letting that nice piece of leather go to waste just because you can wear plate.
That said there's plenty of plate options out there for the budding DPS warrior - you just need to know where to find them/grind them/have them crafted.
Hate; Played a WSG over the weekend. Both sides giving it a go, and after 35 mins it was 2-0 horde. Both sides have the flag, but we (horde) have the flag on the spot, and the alliance only have it at the horde ramp. Mount up, see the flag carrier is a resto shaman, purge his buffs, cast frost shock and....I get stuck casting frost shock.
Ask in bg if there's any lag, and my message doesn't come up. Ask in guild, and my question comes up straight away; my worst fears are confirmed when I dc, log back on, and I'm in Shattrah. 35 mins of wsg wasted! Not even a token for my troubles.
Damn warlocks are easy and fun to level. Cleared out the upper-end STV and Tanaris quests and completely blew through Hinterlands (ended at 52 last night). Only died twice, once to a "lol aggro through wall" situation and once the first time I fought one of those soul eaters (the mobs with the huge amounts of shadow resistance) in Jinthalor.
I only stopped moving to loot corpses and the rare cannibalize.

It's actually a rationing measure put in place by Slavic cultures. Do to overworking of their vowel mines in the 1500's the Slavs have had a long term shortage of vowels. You see similar measures in place in older computer systems. The cost of vowels was simply too high to make use of them for many commands.
I think I'm going to be guildless soon. I'm not having fun since weve merged with the new guild. I can't get any help with anything. And the only way I can get into raids/heroics is if I play a class I don't want to play. Like, I can't even play with all the people I usually did before the merge. I don't even talk in guild chat anymore. I basically log in, do dailies, ask around if anyone wants to do some group quests/5mans, then log off.
So I think I'll just unguild all my characters and level the rest to 70. And not worry about gearing them at all... just get them to 70.
Last night my guild did hyjal, we killed the first four bosses. We've been killin' Azgalore for a few weeks, and I've yet to get my t6 gloves. This week, I was finally not gonna get locked out from dkp defecit.
So of course, the bastard drops THREE warr/hunter/shaman gloves. That damn bastard.
I don't do bad damage, doing 450 in Kara tonight. Especially with my gear. The problem is, to get my warrior to even be viable, I need DPS plate.
Like Coconut Monkey said, don't be afraid to take mail and leather, if it's available. My warrior has several leather pieces on. Upgrades are upgrades, and you shouldn't be getting hit in raids, anyway.
it actually seems like I'm doing less damage and everything is much slower.
You are, and it is. Arms (Imp. Slam Spec) is a little bit less personal DPS, and a bunch more raid DPS, due to the Blood Frenzy talent. DW Fury is higher personal DPS, and if you're good at it, it's MUCH higher personal DPS. Our old fury warrior went away, but he never, ever came in second on Damage done overall in any raid he was ever in. I've honestly never seen any other fury warrior that was as capable as he was. Too bad he is a monumental prick. Anyway, Slam is annoying, and Fury is super-fun.
EDIT: Apparently I logged out with Edge of the Cosmos in my mainhand. Whoops.

Arenas are fun. To make them fun, however, you need gear. To get the gear, you need to do battlegrounds..
You know, it's sad that this is how the game works, really. Replace "arenas" with "progression bosses" and "battlegrounds" with "farm bosses" and you have endgame PVE. I really don't like having to do the same instances on the same character for ten months, it isn't fun, maybe repeating them occasionally but not once a week. But if you don't do that, you can't do the new stuff, which is fun.
Oh well.
Happy: Finally had a raid on Sunday after three canceled raids last week due to all our healers being on vacation at once.
Hate: Said raid was still short healers so we did BT and wiped on Illidan a few times for retarded reasons so he's still up, and we don't raid on Mondays. We posted for people to log on tonight if possible just to kill him, but we'll see if it happens.
Better happy: Two-manning BFD with my shaman and boyfriend's slightly over-level hunter. We started with a full group (prot paladin, ret paladin, resto (??) shaman) and one by one they "sry guys g2g" and left. We just kept going and didn't bother replacing them. Only wiped to the altar event because he forgot that you don't need to click all the fires at once, so we had a million mobs spawn at the same time.
Also BFD is fabulous. It's a shame I think a lot of people miss it. Some of the best aesthetics in the game, I think.
Hate: My guild's GM got his account hacked over the weekend. The hacker disbanded the guild, deleted all of the GM's gear & his other characters on the same server.
Can we say goodbye guild bank? Can we say goodbye to 200 hearts of darkness? (We're at RoS, soo...this would be a bit of setback).
Some people are treating it like a joke, the officers, who are friends with this guy - "Stop looking at porn sites lolol", but it pisses me off that a guy who in charge of a FUCKING RAIDING GUILD wasn't more careful. Don't go to questionable sites, use a better password?
Personally, I think it's hilarious - it couldn't happen to a nicer guy (/sarcasm), but it fucked over the guild.
