also, i went to OC, maryland this weekend and a lady in a thong set up right near us. that is honestly the first time i've seen someone actually wear a thong in a beach setting. it was kinda gross

well, to be fair, most of the people working there are decent enough folk, except for the douchebag scopes people. I'm still trying to figure out why it seems like every placethere is staffed with russian immigrants for the summer.
Easy.
They used to be staffed with Irish. At the Loft we always hired a slew of Irish kids that would come over to live and work for the summer and then fly home. There are companies who run flights and groups and things like that over in Europe. They'd come, make a boat load of cash and then take off with a great summer experience.
Then the dollar tanked. It ceased to be worth it to bring kids from Ireland/England/etc over. Those same companies just changed their market and are now pulling primarily from Eastern European countries.

The russian thing is very common on the east coast these days. I know in my area, Montgomery County, they use Bulgarians and other europeans as lifeguards. Down in North Carolina on the Outer Banks, everyone employee is pretty much a Russian. They come over for the summer and leave.

Yea, my best friend was the Flying Team manager there for 8 summers so in college I would spend time down there working on the Flying Team. Fly kites on the beach all day and play with toys on the boardwalk at night. None of that silly inside sales shit.
