So I'm finally starting to get places. Whoever recommended a grenade was spot on. My little metal grenade says it only does 1d6 damage but there must be some trick because it has one-shot monsters that con as 'you are SO fucked' status. I've been cleaning out the lowbie dungeons with it and doing escort quests for mad cash.
Now that I've got the money, I want to start exploring the other housing options. I bought a storage shack for extra stuff, but I was irritated that I couldn't customize it like I could my shack. Is the shack the only place with the design board, salary chest and other such things in it, or are there deeds of other house types I can pick up? Also, what kind of buildings do you recommend I make? I don't want to get in over my head with taxes and upkeep.
Also, capturing monsters in monster balls... What's the trick? I've gotten them down to stupidly low levels of health and I still can't get a capture.
Yeah, the grenade invokes an explosion effect. Good stuff.
You can customize any property, you just need to bring your design board along. Seriously, pick it up and take it with you. You can also buy more from the embassy (and probably other places as well). Same goes for freezers and salary chests and the like. I can't recommend any buildings, I've only built a museum thus far and it's pretty worthless.
The monster ball needs three things -- it needs very low health, it needs to actually hit the monster, and it needs to be higher leveled than the monster you're trying to capture. It'll tell you what's wrong in the log, usually.
My poor claymore is running around like she's on the rag, bleeding all over the place because of her stupid leveling sword deciding that it needs to suck blood. And I don't have a weapon that deals even close to it's damage of 2d13+10 X 5.5.
Ok does ANY specific Item spawn at certain Vendors/Towns ? I"m having a hell of a time finding damn Uncurse scrolls. I'm a warrior so I pretty magically dumb I had a book titled something about Vendors and then of course died and it dropped and it was in Puppyland so I was screwed.
edit: ANd Deeds for Museums or Houses or storage shacks, are they just random as well? I need more room!

I find most of my uncurse stuff in puppy cave. Just wander around until you find the scroll you want.
Also you can buy every deed at the tax office north of the castle town.

waitwaitwait.
The Claymore class has a living sword?! I guess that's the death knell to my horrible mutated warrior. On the plus side I'll get to see how the nuke works.
I don't know why I even bother with scrolls of uncurse, they're incapable of actually, you know, uncursing. At the rate I'm dreaming up curses my whole inventory will be cursed within a few months of game time, with no apparent way to diffuse them. Plus I'll probably be teleporting all over, which won't help.

Nah, I bought it from a traveling merchant for 4-40k, don't remember if there was a zero at the end or not.
On another note, I just ate a shining hedgehog corpse and it gave me an ether disease. I grew feathers!
I believe TGbobs sword was just cursed and became a blood sucker, I don't think Claymores have a living sword. That's a pretty hilarious and awesome predicament though. As for grenades and ranged weapons, I also am a fan of the shuriken, I love the bleed damage and the base damage is pretty high as well, doesn't hurt that it's also light as hell.
Grenades have the ability to invoke the grenade action.
In this game, such a statement is shockingly not-obvious. I seriously thought that grenades just did that sissy 1d6 or whatever, too!
Also, anybody know what happens if you hit lvl 6 and then lose a level to something or another?
Do you still get penalized as if you were level 6 or higher character?

One of the magical abilities a weapon can have is the living modifier that allows it to gain xp and levels like a person. Pretty much any weapon can be living so it's not exclusive to the Claymore.

A living grenade would be way too funny, and way too awesome.

Okay.. Opening the Shackle next to the Fire Giant in Noyel.. not my brightest moment. Actually, I take that back since it was rather bright considering my character (And all the villagers) were promptly lit on fire.

How DO you open the shackle? I've tried everything I could think of, including leashing the fire giant.

Huh? You just Use the shackle and it opened, but I'm playing in 1.12 because I'm too lazy to update mine so that may be the difference.
Man, having 2 allies is neat and all but I can't do escort quests or even save the puppy, I need more charisma.
I just hit that exact same problem, then i thought "No worries, i'll just splice the little girl into my Infantry, everyone wins" only to be told my splicing wasn't high enough
I gave my little girl a couple mana crystals a sun crystal and some junk stones to hold and save me some weight while I was in a dungeon. I get back to town and forget about them until I get the message "Sansa has sold some items for 4,427 gold" and its HER gold, whats SHE going to do with gold.
Also, goddamn she sold that shit for a lot.
Edit: If I use a rod of change on my fallen warrior pet, will he polymorph permanently, anyone?

She'll use it to pay the trainer to increase her skills.
Your pets sell items for a TON of money, and then spend that money on skill increases for themselves. So it's not a bad thing that they get some money.

Also, what mob corpses have people had good outcomes from eating? The Wiki only has a short list of Horses, Puttis(charisma), rabbit tails(luck) and quicklings. I've also gained Will from eating hermit crabs.

There was a post on their forum, but I hear their forum is dead at the moment.
I'm now Diseased - not Ether Disease either - that I know of...
[Disease]Desire for violence arises withn in you. [DV-24 Dmg bonus+9]
[Disease]Your head has grown huge. [END-7 DEX-5 LER+9 WIL+3]
though I like the dmg bonus I don't care for -24DV and the - end and -dex is annoying.. how do I clear these up?
Those sound like ether disease symptoms to me. Check your feats page and see if it says anything about it.
To all the folks talking about Shurikens, where's a good place to find them? Do they just start appearing after a certain level or should I go to some specific area?
Also, do grenades use throwing skill or firearms skill, and do throwing weapons like shurikens use marksman or not? I'm trying to decide if I should make my archer focus on Laser Guns and such or go the way of Shurikens and Grenades.

I didn't see them until level 5ish, might just be purely coincidental. As for marksman, according to the wiki it only effects crossbows, long/short bows. For shurikens I assume its the Throwing skill, but as for attributes that also help, I don't know, strength or dexterity I suppose, the wiki isn't much help for throwing stuff.
So I let my memorization hit 0%...which is bad apparently, as now I cant train it with the bonus level points, with platinum coins =(
The damned character page is freaking me out as it keeps telling me my stats are worse and worse..damn it to hell. Time to move onto phase 2, buy a ranch and eat putits until my charisma stops sucking

Eat chess piece guys for mad strength gains, chaos eyes for sanity points and shiny hedgehogs and wisps for free levels. The previous sentence may be a lie.
Giants and those hand guys for strengths, trolls/ogres for constitution, casting mobs for magical stuffs. Oh and certain mobs give resistances like spiders or fire hounds and stuff. Just eat everything like I do.
Fruits also increase certain stats, and I know for certain some blessed herbs give guaranteed gains in two stats.

Ah, I had thought that that was Constitution going up, not Healing.
How does one regain Karma now that people won't lemme in the town?

Note the bag next to me, yes, this was the second time it sent me to that godawful room.
There was no exit, I had to mine my way back into that room and kill them all at the choke point.
Luckily, when the bears tore me limb from limb the second time, I dropped the stupid fucking claymore.
